Fun little hike up the hill with great views of Lake Superior, Marquette, and the surrounding area. It was just pristine!

The day me and my boyfriend went the weather was absolutely perfect. The hike seemed like it was going to be long and hard and it actually was not bad of a hike up. They have stairs to go up for half the way which makes it pretty easy. Once you get up there, you see all of Lake Superior... More

Must-do if you are visiting Marquette, Michigan! The difficult trail only took about 25 minutes to get to the top, and make sure to wear sneakers, because the trail consists of some stairs, but mainly the natural environment. We planned our hike with the sunset, and the view was spectacular.

Sugarloaf was really a great place to visit. I don't think you'll find a better view of Lake Superior anywhere else in the area. Maybe Presque Isle.

Free and located just a few minutes northeast of Marquette. Newly paved parking lot leads you to 2 trails - one easier but longer than the other with stairs. Both lead to the rock covered summit with several platforms with vista to the lake, Presque Isle, and the wooded areas around Marquette. Great for adults and kids.

The trail along the hike is well maintained as is the overlook platform at the top. Hiking Sugarloaf is a great family adventure, especially in the fall.

We walked the easy trail which includes many steps. It was a very scenic walk with a breathtaking view of Lake Superior and the surrounding area at the top. Definitely worth the effort.

We took the "difficult" which wasn't terrible. My boys loved it, climbing over rocks and roots. We were able to see some gorgeous fall foliage! Will definitely come back!

We visited Oct 1. The trees were about in peak color. Unfortunately it was a very overcast day, I'm sure it would be even much more beautiful on a sunny day. We walked up the "difficult " trail, which was not too difficult but had lots of rocks and tree roots to maneuver around. It took us about 5 minutes... More

There are two paths to the top: the easy, and the difficult. The easy path is aided by a large number of steps, so there is some exertion to get to the top, but nothing too bad. And the view at the top is well worth it.
