Sugarloaf Mountain is a great hike to get a good overlook of Marquette and Lake Superior. It is about a 20 minute hike to the top and not very strenuous.

This is a great place to hike and when you get the the top it makes the hike worth it! You can see beautiful Lake Superior and all of Marquette County.

A must see whenever in the Marquette area. The views are fantastic and breathtaking and the trails are groomed and have built-in steps for those that find hiking a bit challenging.

I camped up here for 3 days back in the mid 70's (probably illegally) while hitchhiking as a teenager across the UP so I have fond memories. The view is just unbeatable though, just gorgeous.

We went up the mountain which took about 25 minutes up the difficult path. While the views I can't comment on because of the fog it was still worth the trip.

Took the "difficult" trail with my husband and two kids (2&5) and I'm 30 weeks pregnant ;). We did fine, and it was our second hike of the day. Beautiful trail, nice view at the top.

If you want some good exercise and a pleasant walk/hike in the woods, try it. There is an easy trail, which doesn't have as many rocks & roots to climb over, however, there is lots of stairs. The expert trail is shorter, but is steep & rocky, also with lots of stairs to the top. When you get there it... More

A must-see if in Marquette area. There are two trails: one easier, the other more difficult. We went up the easy way and came down the difficult with no problems. My patents ages 71 and 65 did fine. Just need to take your time along the way. At the top there are amazing views and lots of areas to go... More

We decided to climb to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain about an hour before sunset. There were different trails to choose from and we actually did a combination of the easy and more strenuous trail. There are a variety of stairs on the trail so the trail isn't difficult but it is just a steep climb. On the way down... More
