Manistee Riverwalk is a beautiful walk. I enjoyed seeing all the fancy fishing boats and yachts parked along the way.

Hiked the Manistee River Trail on a late August weekend. The trail features gorgeous views of Manistee River, plenty of dispersed/primitive campsites to stay at (campfires permitted), and easy access to water. With easy to moderate difficulty, it is a perfect option for beginner backpackers like us. Compared to Waterloo-Pinckney Trail (another popular hiking trail in South Michigan), it offers... More

Fantastic nature and a wonderful float especially if you have your own gear and transport. Unfortunately, the folks at Manistee Paddle Sports were not very helpful this year so we decided not use their services and opted to buy our own tubes from a tire shop in town (same price MPS rents their tubes). I hope their attitude improves.

Both the Big Manistee and the Little Manistee rivers offer excellent fishing, kayaking, canoeing. Don't go there because you will ruin it... Just Kidding. Take a nice trip down from Tippy Dam in Wellston, Or Rainbow Bend or High Bridge. This is a beautiful pristine River and if you are quiet you will experience a lot of wildlife. Deer, Blue... More

Whether you like hiking, fishing, canoeing, tubing or just plane ol site seeing, The Manistee River is the place to go. With 193 miles of pure flowing water you can't go wrong. I've done just about everything on the Manistee River and can't get enough of it. There's a spot called "res bridge" that's a really nice access point to... More

We took a morning stroll down the boardwalk from the beginning to Lake Michigan - maybe a couple of miles. It was very scenic and very well maintained. Past the restaurants downtown, and the vacation cottages and condos. We read every one of the historical markers and enjoyed seeing all the fishing charter boats. There were plenty of benches to... One of the most beautiful and scenic, plus it's chuck full o' fish! Take a canoe or kayak down the Mighty Manistee and enjoy yourself. You'll travel under train tressels and see things may not have ever seen before. Beautiful trees, homes on the river and more.
