The lighthouse is an excellent example of a Great Lakes lighthouse. This one is easy to get to and has an interesting history. Photographers will like the setting along the bridge. The sunset under the bridge is beautiful. Also a good location for picnicking next to the water.

One of the many lighthouses that we visited on our way home from the U.P. Nice little lighthouse with some interesting history.

I first visited this area in 68. The Lighthouse was then boarded up, being able to go in and go to the top was a WOW moment. The view and the history is worth the ticket.

This was the lighthouse at Mackinaw City that was operated until the Mackinaw Bridge was built. The lighthouse is fully restored, but the outbuildings are still works in progress. You can climb the tower with a guide, but steep stairs and little space so that portion requires a free (with paid admission) timed ticket to limit the number of people.... More

we went to the lighthouse with our heritage pass that we purchased for our family to see the fort and the mill. the lighthouse was included as part of the pass and I am glad that it was. there are a lot of lighthouses in the area and most you can tour for a donation. this one was a bot... More

Small but nice museum that is part of the park system, so there is a discount if you buy multiple park tickets. There were two period dressed presenters, one in the museum and one at the top of the tower, who are very knowledgeable about the lighthouse as well as the straits and local history. The museum has fun things... More

This has long been a favorite lighthouse of ours not just because it has the most amazing setting of all time but it's a beautiful building with lots of color and character. Walk down to the beach and just sit and look at that awesome bridge and listen to the trucks rumble across it. They've added a gift shop since... More

I couldn't enter the lighthouse (I don't know if it's even allowed) but at least the view I had from the outside was incredible it was almost night so I could take some nice pics. It's a must see if you're in the area.

This was the first lighthouse that we toured, and we loved it. You get a great view of the bridge and the island, as long as there isn't fog. The re-enactors there are fun and informative. It is also an easy walk to the fort from there as well, so you can easily combine both of those, and you can... More
