We searched out lighthouses on our trip, and this one was delightful. It is a little out of the way, but in our opinion it was worth the drive. The parking lot is on the small side, but we were able to turn our RV around. The museum is quite lovely and informative. The climb to the top of the... More

Love this lighthouse! It's one of my first things that I have to go see when we get into town. Very historic and just awesome. I have an 8x10 framed photo of it hanging in my office at work.

When my husband and I go to Michigan every year we always drive down to the Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse. You can actually go inside and take a tour.. We like to go down and sit on the bench to watch the sunset. There is a gazebo nearby and a great view of the Mackinac Bridge A must to see.... More

It's an interesting view of the bridge and a bit of history; however, the ticket price is too hight for a place that you can wander through in about 15 minutes.

Delightful experience with young re-en-actors who described accurately the lifestyle of the lighthouse in Mackinaw. Close to town relieved a lot of usual problems faced by lighthouse keepers, with schools and shops nearby. It was a prime selection for lighthouse keepers and is well worth the tour. Beautiful setting looking out a the Mighty Mack bridge on one side and... More

I went here in the morning, before sunrise, to take advantage of the wonderful light. The park is clean and quite, with the turquoise blue of Lake Huron lapping the pebbles of the shore. This is a stunning stop with the Mighty Mackinaw Bridge in the background; a wonderful photo op.

The lighthouse with the bridge in the background made a great picture. You can spend days in Mackinaw City shopping, eating, visiting so many different places. I love going near the end of the season because of the great weather and the sales in all the little shops.

The Great Lakes are surrounded by hundreds of lighthouse that once served as the mariners on the lakes to guide them safely across the waters to their destination. Of those, over one hundred are on Michigan soil covering four of the lakes. Each one was built for a specific navigational purpose and while the sailors of today no longer use... More

We arrived too late to tour inside but enjoyed the walk around the site and lakeshore. Great view of the bridge at night.
