located in Mackinaw City on the beach next to the Mackinaw Bridge and Fort Michilimackinac - with a beautiful view of Mackinac Island
I went here in the morning, before sunrise, to take advantage of the wonderful light. The park is clean and quite, with the turquoise blue of Lake Huron lapping the pebbles of the shore. This is a stunning stop with the Mighty Mackinaw Bridge in the background; a wonderful photo op.
The lighthouse with the bridge in the background made a great picture. You can spend days in Mackinaw City shopping, eating, visiting so many different places. I love going near the end of the season because of the great weather and the sales in all the little shops.

The narrator was beyond excellent. My husband and I were the only visitors at the time so the narrator helped us take special pictures from the top of the lighhouse. The historical film was film was well done and interesting.
Wife and I really enjoyed the tour of this lighthouse. Easily accessible to everything in Mackinaw City and friendly, knowledgable staff at the lighthouse. The gentleman staffing the top of the lighthouse gave us great details about the job of a lighthouse keeper, the daily life routines, and requirements. Tremendous detail in the explanations, as he really knew his stuff.... More
Our visit was great and the price is very affordable even on a tight budget. The views from the lighthouse were amazing. The staff was very knowledgeable and make us feel at home. The history preserved there is outstanding. I will be visiting there again very soon.
