A perfect combo with the fort and Mill creek sites. This light house is a must see for any lighthouse aficionado or someone interested in area history. You must make the climb to the top for pictures and breathtaking views of the bridge. The history and displays are informative and there is plenty convenient parking. Dont miss it.

This has to be one of the super easily accessible lighthouses from the 1800s. The lighthouse is well preserved with excellent guides and historical artifacts and plaques. There are simple but well done and engaging activities for children 3yrs and up.

Seeing something old that was used and beneficial back in time, sad that lighthouse aren't used but with technology and with GPS, I understand, History still standing and you can see it and appreciate it.

I took my class on a field trip to the Straits area for their end of the year field trip. What a pleasant surprise to see how much the students learned about life in a lighthouse on the Great Lakes. The view was simply breathtaking. Please do stop by and learn what life was like 100 years ago!

PROS: historic and photogenic lighthouse by the lake; you have the bridge in the background; easy 1 hour stop; ample parking; right beside Colonial Michilimackinac; walking distance to a few hotels; CONS: plenty of huge mosquitos; can not step out into the railing on top; few exhibits on the grounds.

This is a must see lighthouse, beautifully set next to the Mackinaw Bridge and on the lake shore. For a small fee you can tour the lighthouse and climb the tower where the lighthouse beacon used to be. But beware it's a tight fit for the tall or short. The lighthouse is surrounded by picnic areas and right next to... More

My relative wanted to take a tour of the lighthouse and I had to admit that it was interesting! The museum was well done. There was an interesting short video about ships that sank in the straits. Overall I would highly recommend stopping there. It's a gem!

A literal busload of us made a stop here. Arriving, you had your option of what to see first. Some headed for the lighthouse itself (good shoe, others went to view a film on the history of the site; more went for a tour of the house and a group of us headed for the store. The bookstore has a... More

You can now tour this light and climb the tour. (Flip flops and loose saddles are not allowed!) The cost for your ticket may be combined with a ticket to For Colonial Michilimackinac or Fort Mackinaw.
