Mackinac Island could be the place for you. You might love it. It all depends on what you are looking for. If you want peace and relative quite, you will love it. It is very slow paced. No cars, so be prepared to bike or walk. My wife liked it. I did not. The smell of the horses going in...

Absolutely loved this place! Very beautiful! So much to see & do here. I would love to go back because we didn't get to do everything we wanted to do. Ran out of time! Great food & snacks. Lots of souvenir shops!

The Island really is one great big state park. Bike and hike and then do it again at another time of day to catch the lighting changes. Come back again and again... Enjoy!

My husband, mother in-law and myself took the hydro-ferry over to the Island for the day. Of course this wasn't cheap, but it's about the only way to get there. It was a very busy place. This is like a walk back in time! Love the fact there is no motorized vehicles on this Island. We took a carriage tour which was a lot of fun and very informative. The hotel is a MUST see. Take your time, arrive early and stay late. There is a lot to see.
