What a treat to go to this place.. I had one land on my hand while I was taking a picture and from what I understand that is good luck.

I love sitting in the greenhouse with the butterflies all around me. It is so peaceful. The plants are incredible too. The staff is very knowledgeable and always nice and helpful (and patient with my little kids).

We have visited both butterfly houses and we really enjoy the Original Mackinac Island Butterfly House located close to St Anne's Church. You can stay as long as you like, which is great since it takes a while to fully appreciate all the beautiful butterflies.

Lots so beautiful butterflies. My kids enjoyed trying to identify all of the different types. Definitely a must see for kids on Mackinac Island!

If you have a 2 year old, they will love this place. Small, but the wonder of butterflies is great. Huge variety, and also enjoyed (and was freaked out by) the feeding of the giant cockroaches. I'll have nightmares about the little babies coming out of the soil by the hundreds to feed...

Exhibit is really small. There were not that many butterflies. Basically a waste of time and money and I really like butterflies

Beautiful blues, radiant reds, precious purples, all yhe colors in the world welcome visitors to this peaceful place. Even the young visitor sit quietly and wait for a winged wonder to land on their body. Watch when you leave because they love to hitchhiike out of their home, on your clothes.

This would be particularly fun for kids, they gave us stickers and informative charts to see what kinds of butterflies there were inside, we were on our honeymoon though so we didn't really need anything like that, but the butterflies were beautiful, and i even got one to land on my finger because of my pink nail polish! only downside... It is a small place, and the air is necessarily humid due to the types of plants and the various types of butterflies. You cannot help but smile when you see the reactions of children and adults alike as the gentle, beautiful creatures move about - and sometimes alight on you. Make sure none tag along with you when you... More

My daughter loved the check list and looking for different butterflies. The staff helped her with hints for different species; they were friendly and helpful with all her questions. We had to return twice to complete her list, so I appreciate the wrist bands!!
