This is a very cool rock formation found on the Island. It is heavy on the tourist visitations and when the 4 horse carraiges pull up and once, forget seeing anything. But if you manage to catch it during the inbetween times it is really cool. Located about 1 mile from town or 1/2 mile from the fort. If you... more

The water seems to change color as the minutes pass while you look through this arch. It is a beautiful view and just a bit past the fort. It is worth seeing. more

My husband and I decided to explore Mackinac Island on foot while we were there. We came across Arch Rock and it was beautiful. It was a great photo opportunity for us. We got to see it from the top and bottom view and both are amazing. You should definitely go see this rock if you are visiting the island. more

Don't stop there...if you've already climbed all the way there, there is another set of stairs just to the left of arch rock that leads to the "tranquil trail". It is very serene (it... more

Arch rock is a limestone formation a few hundred feet above the shore of Lake Huron. About a half mile from the downtown area, most tourists walk, bike or take a carriage tour to the site. Be aware that if you hike or bike you will have some a very large hill to walk up before you reach the destination!... more
