Mackinac Bike Barn is Mackinac's only locally owned retail, rental, and repair facility. This shop is located in the former location of the Mackinac Island Bike Shop. The shop is right next to another bike rental but is easily identifiable by its red "barn" color. I've lived on the Island my whole life and take my cruiser for repairs here... More

The employees were very kind and helpful. The better bikes are well worth the extra few dollars. Road the 8 miles around on an absolutely stunning landscape. Lots of fun. Will do it again.

This business is now called the Mackinac Island Bike Barn. It has a new owner and is no longer referred to as the Mackinac Island Bike Shop.

We took the Sheplers Ferry over and this bike shop is the first one to your right as you exit the boat. Be aware! Other bike rentals advertise lower fares, but that is for a standard, gearless, bike. You need a mountain bike if you plan to bike the entire 8 miles around the island. The staff is quick and... More

We were assisted promptly, given advice as to which style of bike would work best for our activities, and fitted. We were given our water, basket, and map complimentary as well. With approximately 10 minutes, we were on our way! We were expecting to pay quite a bit for the 2 of us. However, we were pleased to end up... More

My daughter and I rented bikes when we visited Mackinac Island. It ended up being the best activity I have ever experienced on a vacation. There are no motorized vehicles so you are free to ride without worry of being hit by a car. We rode the entire perimeter of the island. It was beautiful and relaxing. I enjoyed every... More

We wanted to see the whole island and heard the bike ride was the way to do it. IT WAS !!! The bike shop was very informative and gave us a map of places to stop and things to see. With no cars you have the road to your self ! Take some snacks/food and drinks as the snack shop... More

If you go to Mackinac Island I would recommend bringing your own bike, if you have one. If you DON'T, this place is your next best bet. They give you free water, a basket, and a helmet with your bike. Also, they do not require a deposit. However, it's pretty pricey. For about 7 hours our cost was $80 for... More

The staff at Mackinac Wheels were friendly and helpful. Their rates were comparable with the other nearby shops, but we liked the selection of bicycles better. We chose classic cruisers that had at least three speeds. We rode completely around the island, which was totally enjoyable.

We rented bikes for 3 hours during which we rode the perimeter of the island for 8 miles and the interior tour for 3 miles which covered the island's top points of interest. They gave us sturdy bikes that handled well and were equipped with cloud 9 seats. A wonderful way to see the island for a great price.
