My 6 year old really liked this place. He loved the cannon firing and the children's games presentation. The displays are done very well, especially the hands on kids stuff. This fort is very nicely presented, with a lot of historical information available. I feel it is well done, especially for children to understand and grasp. There are great reinactments with cannon firings, musket firings, trials (done with humor). Be sure and walk the elevated portion of the fort-look out for the enemy-lol. This is a beautiful Island to visit. The Fort has been kept in mint condition and they still have reenactments. I believe they still fire the cannons a couple of times daily. Fort Mackinac is a must visit attraction on this island...we paid $10 per adult to enter the fort.
