Nice boat ride across Lake Michigan.

We took a one way trip to Wisconsin on the Badger. We were there on a Monday morning, during the first week of June. It wasn't very busy that day, so we could go everywhere and have plenty of space. I liked the Cabana deck area because it was very sunny. We even watched a movie in the theater. We... More

A little motion sickness, but took 2 Dramamine and it helped. Was surprised to see everything the ship offered. Had good food and staff kept passengers entertained with bingo and trivia games. Also nice little movie theater and arcade. Highly recommend doing it just for the experience.

If you want to get from Michigan to Wisconsin, this is the way to go........ the ship is incredible and the staff was just great. Never felt like there were waves or fog and there was always something to do if you wanted...........if not, just sit back and relax. Lots to drink, eat and enjoy on the way.

SS Badger is the last coal fired car ferry built for traffic on the Great Lakes. Take a ride on a historic ship before it could be forced out of business by ridiculous environmental regulations. The 4 hour trip across Lake Michigan is a fun time with free "Badger Bingo" including prizes and lots of corny jokes. There are 2... More

Everyone who enjoys the Great Lakes must ride this ferry once. But it's pricey, especially if you include your car (why else ride it?). A VERY old coal-burning steamer, under constant attack by environmentalists, it may not survive long. Don't expect glamor! the accommodations are Spartan, the food service rudimentary. But who cares? This is a poor man's ocean liner... More

My stay aboard the Badger was just after Labor Day 2012. I had heard that because of pressure from environmentalists who had a problem with the Badger ( which is the last coal burning car ferry on the Great Lakes ) dumping her coal ash in lake Michigan that they might have to suspend service and that 2012 might be... We sailed on the SS Badger August 2012. This was awesome! It is a wonderful trip that flew by so quickly. Family friendly!!!! Excellent staff! We loved the dancing guy! My kids are still laughing! Beautiful trip across Lake Michigan to Wisconsin. So glad we decided to take the trip.

We sailed again on the Badger, this time in autumn. There was a great offer on Groupon (hope they do it again). We had a stateroom: Very comfy and cozy--two twin beds, our own sink and potty. Also very clean. Took a wonderful nap on the way home, gently lulled to sleep by the slight rocking motion of the ship.... More
