There is a hike to the light house but it is just a few miles and it is an easy car width wide trail that is not at all strenuous even for a non athletic, out of shape, over weight 40 something gal like me - the view is worth the walk and since you did just walk a few... More

We did not go up on the lighthouse but would recommend. It is a long walk. I did my review under Ludington State Park so check it out.

Loved the tour. Loved the hike, and the volunteers were excellent. I can check one more Michigan lighthouse off my list.

We were told when my grandkids ( 14 & 11) & I rented our bikes that we could easily bike to this lighthouse because it was now paved...she was Very wrong. I would rather have hiked it as the soft sand and uneven ground made biking difficult. The tour once we arrived at the Lighthouse was worth getting there!! Enjoyed... More

The guides were very knowledgeable and did a great job of engaging visitors as well as answering questions. Wear comfortable shoes since it's about a mile from the parking area and it's not paved.

You must hike or bike out to the lighthouse, but it is well worth the visit. The path is sandy in most places, but there are places to rest, read the placards, and go off path to the sand dunes. On the morning we visited, we spotted a bald eagle. The lighthouse itself has a nice beach and some nice... More

The 1.8 mile walk to the lighthouse is definitely worth it. We walked the service road and found the walk to be very enjoyable. The lighthouse is beautiful with a climb to the top that is also well worth it (watch your head on occasion). Very scenic vista from the outside deck of the top of the light!. Very friendly... More
