Great place for a family camping trip. We have been here two different times and my kids love it here. There are bike trails, hiking trails, swimming in Lake Michigan or Lake Hamlin. We enjoyed tubing also. One of my favorite places to take my family camping.

Everything about the Ludington State park is great. You're right on Lake Michigan and you are also on Hamlin Lake. Great fishing area's and the trails are great for the family. The lot's are spacious and lot's of tree's. There is a nice slow moving river to tube down that goes all the way to the beach. Living in Ludington... More

This was our first visit to Ludington State Park, just as day visitors, not campers. We hiked by the river and dam, and on one of the nature trails alongside Hamlin Lake. The trail was splendid with beautiful lake views and quiet forest moments, though it was a little busy on a Saturday morning. We returned the next day to... More

I had some high expectations heading to Ludington State Park and it still managed to exceed them. From the absolutely beautiful trails, to the great lakeshore, lighthouse, campgrounds, etc., it does not disappoint. I highly recommend the Skyline trail. Its worth the massive stairway. The views are breathtaking. I also recommend going to see the lighthouse but take the gravel... More

1. The park is the perfect location to watch sunset with its long shoreline facing the west. 2. No mosquitos like some other parks do. 3.

About 5 miles north of Ludington on M-116, this state park has a lot to offer: sandy beaches on Lake Michigan and at (warmer/calmer) Hamlin Lake, camping, hiking, sand dunes, boat rentals (kayaks/canoes/paddle boats) at Hamlin Lake Beach, picnic areas, plenty of wildlife, and the majestic Big Sable Point Lighthouse. Bring your hiking shoes for the walk to the lighthouse... More

The almost 2 mile to the Big Sable was well worth the walk. A very scenic path and the hosts at Big Sable were helpful and friendly. Beautiful views in every direction!

Went on a non-touristy weekend. The beach had been raked and the walk to the lighthouse was windy but had few people.

It was absolutely beautiful and the trails were great to hike. The Big Sable Lighthouse was the highlight of the experience!!! It was a very windy day and I loved the view of the lake and the push and pull of the breeze. What a beautiful fury! Will have to visit again!!
