Very nice park

Very nice park. I would recommend a hike to the lighthouse. Lake Michigan is up so the hike on the beach is thru a couple of feet of water at times.

We've been coming to Ludington for day trips for 20 years. We bring our tubes up and float down the river to lake Michigan then play at the beach for hours! This year my husband rode his kayak down the river with our 2 year old daughter. On hot days the river is a perfect cool temp. It's always warm... More

The state park has a nice beach on Lake Michigan. It also has nice hiking trails. The sites in the campground are not the best. The sites are small and many are not level.

The variety of activities to enjoy in Ludington State Park is only limited by your energy. The walks through nature are great. Boats, bathing, floating, biking, camping, and just having fun come easily here. It is no surprise that it was rated the country's best state park.

We didn't stay but we walked through and saw the camping areas and hiked to the lighthouse and back. Looks like there is a lot of fun things to do, including floating down the river on inner tubes, hiking, exploring.

Best Beach in Michigan. This is on our yearly visit wish list. We have made it for the last several years and always love the open beaches. Combine the best sand beaches with a cool downtown and we love it. Make sure you stop by and see Sandcastles children museum if you have younger kids.

The beach is awesome!!! There is over 7 miles of pristine shoreline for swimming. The campground is very nice and clean. There are 3 separate campgrounds with over 600 total campsites. There are lots of things to do including hiking trails, river tubing, and kayaking.

We arrived at the park early (10:00 am) and paid the out of state fee ($9). The ranger took time to talk to us and tell us some places we might want to see and supplied maps. We hiked out to the lighthouse first (1.8 miles each way) which was a nice, flat walk and would be a wonderful trail... More

This is easily one of the most beautuful places in the state if not the world. Miles of trails to walk and would highly recommend floating down the Big Sable River.
