Upon arrival late in the evening on a Saturday, I was a little taken-aback by the density of the campground. It seemed like wall-to-wall aluminum RVs (not to mention the trucks used to haul them all). I was a definite minority with my little tent. But that was just the first night. On Sunday morning quite a few of the... More

Clean park. Friendly helpful staff. Will definitely be back. Snack bar with decent selections and gift shop. Clean restrooms. Plenty of parking esp if you arrive early.

We've been coming every summer for four years now and always have a great time. Kids love the little beach area. Like that they have lots of boats, tube, paddle boat and kayaks to rent. The food from the snack bar is pretty good too. Can't wait for next year to do it all over again!

The hiking trails are among the most beautiful I have ever seen. The beach is clean and easily accessible. The sunset is picture perfect. Bring cash, though, because the lighthouses you are going to want to visit want a "donation" -- in other words, they are going to charge you to go up in the tower. They call it a... More

Ludington State Park is one of the best places on earth. I go there with my family every summer. But our stay would be a whole lot better if the Great Lakes Visitor Center was brought back. Everyone in my family really misses it and it's just not the same without it.

Walking along the beach is great fun, and very satisfying, but think about what walking barefoot or in sandals for 4 miles will do to your feet and legs. I usually wear soes with orthotics, and was sore for 3 days. The lighthouse keepers/docents at the lighthouse do a marvelous job telling story of the life of the keepers.

Excellent views in the park and all the way up N Lakeshore Drive (116) all along Lake Michigan. They did it right and left the dune area open to the public instead of selling the land for homes and businesses. You can pull off the road and walk a few yards to the beaches of Lake Michigan. Once you get... More

We came here for the lighthouse and kayak rental on Lake Hamblin, and it didn't disappoint. There are some fun trails leading to the lighthouse. We chose the "Lighthouse Trail" which wound through some forest areas and some really neat dunes, which was a more interesting trail than the straightforward one along the gravel path near Lake Michigan. One thing... More
