Went on a non-touristy weekend. The beach had been raked and the walk to the lighthouse was windy but had few people.

It was absolutely beautiful and the trails were great to hike. The Big Sable Lighthouse was the highlight of the experience!!! It was a very windy day and I loved the view of the lake and the push and pull of the breeze. What a beautiful fury! Will have to visit again!!

We stayed at the campground. The bath houses are cleaned twice daily and were always clean. The trails were well maintained and beautiful scenery! Park rangers were always driving pass so very safe! This is a park to visit!

This is one of the nicer state parks we've visited. We were here to see the lighthouse but, if we would have had more time we should have stayed and enjoyed some of the amenities that are offered. We'll have to come back.

We were intrigued by the canoe trail, so we rented canoes at the concession stand on the lake to give it a try. They had one map to look at, but the park office hadn't supplied them with any this year, so they had none for us to take out. Reassuring, the man renting us the canoes said it is... More

I love beaches - whether they are in Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Mexico, California, the Caribbean - just give me a beach and I am happy. The Lake Michigan beaches in Ludington State Park are some of the best - if not the best - beaches in Michigan. Beautiful, clean, smooth sand, plentiful shallow areas to wade in... More

This park is beautiful. We look forward to coming here every year. It is a must see. The drive up the coast to the park entrance, M116 is awesome.

We loved the Hamlin Lake side of the park since the water was so shallow it was perfect with 3 small boys. It was fun to watch the boaters come and go. The Lake Michigan side was gorgeous, the water was clear as can be. We will be back!

Very nice bike trail. It was long one so we just took one round and got tired. The scenery was good. The beach close to state park was extremely clean and not too many people so we had lot of space to enjoy.
