We had to check out the festival. Beer tents, items to buy with logo on it, German foods to try. My fiancee tried all the meats and I tried desserts. Parking for the event was just on the streets with parking meters.

40 years ago I came back from visiting Chicago's Old Town and tried to tell everyone that Lansing''s North End, as it was referred to then, was better for architecture and right on the river too and everyone told me I was crazy. It was a skid row back then with some very rough bars (two New Years Eves in... More

The transition from 'old' to 'old town' was some time ago. This area hosts many fun street fairs and parties in a nice re-gentrified (but not overly done) venue. Old Town Lansing has a wonderful river-walk and gives one the feel of times gone by. Leave the cell phone in the car and spend the afternoon dining and strolling along... More

There is quiet a bit to do in Old Town. There is the river walk and a lot of boutique shops to wander. Plenty of places to grab a bite or a full meal.

There are new stores coming and going, but the rehabbing being down in Old Town is exciting to see. It is slowly but surely finding a new base of clientele with stores such at Meat BBQ, Whipped Bakery, and a fun popcorn shop with samples of gourmet popcorn. There are galleries and antique stores, as well.

It is a very eclectic area. The buildings are well maintained and original....so many galleries and art shops. They also hold quite a few music and art fests in old town.

Being a Lansing native I've been around the town a couple times. This is one of the best places to go in Lansing. Preuss Pets is fun with its exotic animals to explore. Zoup is an amazing eatery to stop for lunch. Clems is perfect for all m fellow nerds out there or even board game enthusiasts. My only problem... More
