Totally delightful...looking forward to experiencing it in all seasons. One can appreciate natural and man-made beauty from a diversity of perspectives. Great for walking, jogging and biking.

I really like the River Trail. It's a great place to run, walk dogs, and ride your bike. It takes you through all different parts of the city, and there are many parking areas along the route so each time you go you can try new sections of the trail. For the most part, the trail is maintained very well,... More

The City of Lansing can throw all of the money they want at revitalizing the River Trail. However, until the crime rate and negative element in Lansing improves, this worthwhile endeavor is wasteful. I used to rollerblade (15 years ago) along the River Trail almost every day. Today, I certainly wouldn't walk it alone and certainly will not bring my... More

Stretching between Lansing and the campus of Michigan State University of East Lansing is a 13 mile bike/hike trail following the Cedar River and and the Grand River. It passes through Lansing's Potter Park and connects to the Old Town District. It is always busy with families, students, serious bikers and hikers, and people like me who need a break... More

This is the longest bike trail in the Lansing area and it winds through mostly nice areas. Be careful if it has rained a lot recently since some of the areas near the river flood, especially near or in E. Lansing. The areas in Lansing are nice to walk during the winter with views of the city and river.

Wonderful trail that runs along the Grand River. It starts west of the Turner- Dodge House and runs out to East Lansing. It's easy to access anywhere along the trail, so your hike or bike ride can be as short or as long as you like. The trail passes by the Turner-Dodge House, Brenke Fish Ladder, Old Town, Potter Park... More

The river trail is the best thing I have found about Lansing. I like it so much I am going to move to a new place right next to trail access. Last weekend I rode 26 miles on the trail, which means I went both ways on nearly every part of the system. The parks were not too crowded to... More

Long, paved path snaking from north side of town to near-south along riverfront and then East to city's zoo. Includes walking-scale distance of our solor system's planets. Access to downtown cultural center. Plans were made to connect MSU's walking trail for all-day walks.

This is a long paved trail that follows the river through much of Lansing. It's safe and pretty. Great spot for a run, bike ride or walk.
