The River Trail is a wonderful place for a bike ride. You can go for as long or as short as you like. it goes through forests and it goes through the city. It gives a good sense of what kind of place the Lansing area is. It's possibly the best thing this area has to offer. You could also... More

My wife, 3.9 YO son and I visited Old Lansing to experience the Meat BBQ restaurant. The River Trail is readily accessible from the public parking lot where Turner "T's" out at East Grand River Ave. We specifically wanted to see the Brenke Fish Ladder which was interesting but we were too late in the season to see it in... This is one of Lansings jewels. It's a beautiful trail. We see all kinds of people using the trails from couples, solo joggers, families to students, walking, running, riding bikes, on skates. It is visually interesting, always changing, I especially love the parts that run by the river. You can go from Potter Park Zoo to MSU quickly or Downtown.... More

I like to go to the river walk, but i don't go to far, i like the downtown area, sometimes i feel is not that safe, but i guess it is. it nice to go to the marketplace and them go for a small walk.

The River Trail has been my favorite part of Lansing since moving here. It is enjoyable year-long! Worth walking, biking, skating, or sitting!

I parked at the north end of the downtown wing of the trail by the Turner-Dodge house and took the trail to Old Town, then continued past the fish ladder, several parks and playgrounds, beautiful art sculptures, the city market, and into town. I was very impressed how clean it was and how many people used it. What a gem.

This is one of the best maintained urban trails I have seen. It follows along the Grand River and through a diversity of urban settings. You can go as long or little as you like. Ideal of course for biking but awesome for on foot. The city even clears it in the winter.

I bike the trail all summer long. It's an incredible thing we have here in the Lansing area. It's a super easy way to get from downtown Lansing to campus which is a perk if you don't have a car!

We're lucky to have such an extensive urban trail in Lansing, which also has most sections plowed throughout the winter. You can pick up the trail right by Michigan State and get a solid 20 mile run in on it. Its well cared for, and with only a couple of exceptions shielded from the city (meaning, its a beautiful view).... More

The River Trail has had a few improvements since I was last on it. There are new paths to explore and some of the areas have been re-done. Lansing is really trying to get people out to enjoy nature and some exercise.
