This is a beautiful building with an interesting history. It's free to get in, and the free hour-long guided tour was very informative. Although we were "tagging along" with an Elementary School group, we were able to keep up -- even driving a double stroller! The state capitol is fun to visit, especially if you do the tour. It's free! Also works great if you head over to the Michigan Historical Museum behind it afterwards for a tour as well. more

My daughter and two granddaugthers spent a weekend this summer in Lansing. We had done much research and planning and looked forward to showing the girls our state capital. How disappointed we were when arriving at the capitol and found it closed because of financial reasons. I have checked out several websites for the capitol and I still cannot find... more
