This is the cloesest state park to our home. But it feels much further once there! Lots and lots of shade trees for privacy! A few can be quite wet from rains so double check upon arrival! The lake and beach area are great for day trips too! I've seen lots of fishermen every visit so there must be something... More

We live in the Lansing area but have never visited Sleepy Hollow State Park. While out for a ride on a nice December day with no snow on the ground and temperature in the 40s. Drove through the park. Since it was off season there was no fee taker, but the gates were open and there were people walking and... More

Nice rustic camping. Beach is small but well cared for. Small dog beach also. Fishing, boating, and horseback riding all possible. Lots of trails for hiking. Close to St. Johns and Laingsburg if you want a break. Give it a try.

Loved staying at Sleepy Hollow! We stayed at the organization site and had a great experience. Lots of room for our multiple tents, along with a water source and bathroom facilities too. No running water here- but they do have modern facilities in the main campground. Our group hiked around the lake while we were visiting; a good hike it... More

If you live in Mid-Michigan you don't have to travel hours to get to a quality State Park, there is one in your own back yard. Sleepy Hollow is a large State Park full of many great trails and a large no-wake lake. There is a large pavilion located in the center with plenty of parking and bathrooms. If you... More

Nice park not far from the city. Since we live locally, we come for the 14 miles of mountain bike trails and the swimming beach. The lake is also nice for kayaking. There are a lot of camping sites, and the park is popular for that on weekends. There are also extensive horse riding trails that are separate from the... More

Secluded sites. Family atmosphere. Great beach and beatiful lake. Lots of hiking. Found good places to eat not far away. First time here was a labor day weekend. Lots of children but still quiet.

The park is very alive along the hiking trails lots of wildlife. The trails were clean and very passable. While I was hiking my wife and kids swam and fished in the lake. The beach was clean and there was a ton of parking. Allot of fun for all of us. It is a state park so there is a... More

We really enjoyed the park for camping and swimming at the beach. All the staff were friendly and very helpful, campsites were for the most part secluded, I know it's camping, and I expect mosquitoes, and maybe it was all the rain we had lately..but WOW!..will definitely need the spray. Was impressed with the bathrooms/showers, thought they were very clean... More
