Can't say more than it is a 5 star course in God's country. Enjoy the links, the clubhouse and the area.
I brought some friends up from Wisconsin and we golfed Timberstone in July. Its a beautiful golf course, very playable yet still challenging. We all had a remarkable time, the staff was wonderful. Before we left, we stopped at Famers for a bite to eat, the food we had was great and also received spectacular service there as well. Defiantly... More
This course is outstanding!!!!! It is beautiful, nestled in the woods - we even saw a deer and fawn! It has the perfect name - lots of trees and rocks. It is challenging but not impossible. I will say the designer had no sense of humor when he placed the sandtraps by the greens though. The clubhouse is very nice.... More
Played Timberstone on one of the hottest days of the year in the U.P. - it was worth it. The clubhouse staff (mostly college-age kids) were more than hospitable and the course itself was a wonderful test of golf. Each hole has character beyond just a northern Michigan tree lined course... thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would play it again... More
TimberStone is a Golf Digest 5-star rating and deserves the raves. It is a gorgeous course, playable for duffers like me and challenging for the type of player I am not. No. 17 is a tremendous par three with a great view and seven teebox choices. Pick the right tee box for your handicap and the course is quite manageable,... More

If you travel this far to play this course, the practice range should be grass. If folks don't know how to use a range correctly, post the Golf Digest article! We did... More
Timberstone combines the woodsy layout of a northern Michigan golf course with dramatic elevation changes. Tough but fair, and in outstanding shape. This is certainly worth the drive to play; the afternoon price was very affordable. If you are just playing one course in the UP--this should be it.
