This was our second year in a row to visit Interlochen for the Labor Day weekend. The park was not as packed as it was last year which was nice. We saw a few changes in the park such as paved lots which is great if you have a travel trailer. However, if you tent camp like we do, the... More

While visiting the in-laws on Green Lake, we took a day to spend on the Duck Lake side at Interlochen State Park. Duck Lake is beautiful and almost a mirror image of our favorite Green Lake. We rented kayaks and paddled from the great beach at the state park across to the point of the peninsula. We brought our SUP... More

This was a beautiful campground and a great location within easy driving distance to Frankfort, Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and about an hour from Manistee or Kalkaska. It's a very beautiful area. The campsites are big. BUT. They don't warn you to stay away from camping in the north Campground. You see, it's just over the fence from the... More

For over 600 sites you would think it would feel crowded but that's not the case!! Most sites are large and they have added a bunch of 50 amp sites. Showers were clean & warm!! Be aware thought the bands have wake up at 6:00am!! And are on the field by 8:00! Might be quieter closer to the lake, but... More

Did not have a good time this camping trip. Be careful when booking, pay attention to camp site dimensions-some of the sites are VERY small. They have done what the airlines have done on planes - squeezing every seat they can ignoring leg room for passengers. We were packed into campsites like sardines. The point of camping is to enjoy... We met up with family here to stay a few nights. The park was very crowded. People were cutting through our campsite to get to the bathrooms 2 rows away instead if going around. Passing right behind me repeatedly as I sat by the fire pit. Bathrooms were not kept up during the busy weekend. That being said, if you... More

This is roughly our 5th vacation to the beautiful state park. During this trip, we stayed for 4 nights (Mon-Fri). Although reservations are recommended for most state parks, we had no problem getting a site during the week without them. In fact, during our stay, about 1/3 - 1/4 of the sites were unoccupied. The sites are well used, but... More

First time camping vacation and so far hands down best experience ever. Love the people and the lake. Such a nice place to relax and enjoy nature.

My family and I camped at Interlochen State Park the week of July 4th. This park was our second choice but we are very glad we stayed here. The park is well-maintained with clean restrooms and showers and a friendly staff. The site we had was large enough for our pop-up and a tent and two cars. The park was... More

We (husband and self) are young adults with no kids. Just keep that in mind, since I can't really speak for families... That being said, of all the state parks we've camped at (about 5-6 in various states), this has to be my favorite. Checking in was a smooth process and staff was very friendly. The bathrooms were clean. Everyone... More
