How ever you like your winter, NARA has a great spot for you to engage! When your too cold, come in and warm up. Located right next to the animal shelter, this large, well marked trail system has miles of well groomed paths. There is a warming house with bathrooms and a good waxing area. There is a nice sledding... More

Great wide trails made for great hiking/jogging through beautiful woods. I would love to come back and ski these trails.

The boardwalks follow the pilgrim river through a marsh with lots of short trees and tall grasses. We came on a warm day in September and there weren't very many birds or much wildlife but had a wonderful time taking in the beauty of nature. If you want a quiet place to be and walk I would really recommend going.... More

One of our favorite locations for walking/bike riding. Its beautiful, quiet, and the trail is so well done. The kids feel like they're in a jungle. We love to stop and read the signs posted and visit the fishing spots to just sit and watch the toads and/or birds. Its a great gem.

It's a good area to visit with family and friends for a hike or maybe visiting the humane society right by it to walk the dogs and trail. It stretches out pretty far so it's also great for biking!!

We visited the Houghton area to cross-country ski. The Nara park has a wonderful warming house adjacent to the Nara trails, which connect to the trails at Michigan Tech. These trails are fantastic!

If you like walking and being outdoors, check this out while in town. I did the lakeshore trails and none of the three disappointed. I appreciated the variety of scenery along the boardwalks and Peepsock path down to Lake Superior. Looking forward to exploring the trails along the other side of the road someday.

This is a wonderful area. Its great for hiking, mountain bikes, cross country skiing and snowmobiling. They even have a very nice warming cottage. Its convenient , right on M-41. Across the street are some very pretty boardwalks for birding.

My friends and I walked the boardwalk, which was across the street from the larger portion of the Nature Park. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous and the boardwalk made it easy to navigate, although one portion was a bit slanted to the side--would have been difficult for those in a wheelchair. I was disappointed to discover that the portion near... More
