If you like walking and being outdoors, check this out while in town. I did the lakeshore trails and none of the three disappointed. I appreciated the variety of scenery along the boardwalks and Peepsock path down to Lake Superior. Looking forward to exploring the trails along the other side of the road someday.

This is a wonderful area. Its great for hiking, mountain bikes, cross country skiing and snowmobiling. They even have a very nice warming cottage. Its convenient , right on M-41. Across the street are some very pretty boardwalks for birding.

My friends and I walked the boardwalk, which was across the street from the larger portion of the Nature Park. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous and the boardwalk made it easy to navigate, although one portion was a bit slanted to the side--would have been difficult for those in a wheelchair. I was disappointed to discover that the portion near... More

We picked up the bike path at MTU and followed it down to Nara. We stopped off at the local bar and had lunch and then did some more sight seeing in the Preserve.

My wife and I go for a stroll and take our grandkids along several times a year. Nothing spectacular, but a nice walk, relaxing, and a good start before heading down the hiking/biking trail.

This place is close to Michigan Tech's campus, and I used to love heading down the road to visit (there's a bike path that takes you along the portage to it). There's a pretty extensive boardwalk that takes you through beautiful marshland, and it's especially nice in fall. Worth a stop.

A nature sanctuary on land donated by local philanthropists Dr. Bob and Ruth Nara, the park has a covered area perfect for picnics or get-togethers.

Biked to it after doing the trail along the shore from downtown. Found it interesting but didn't see too many birds.

This is a small short walk but nice scenery of the channel. Sometimes turtles nest here. A good way to get a short glimpse of nature in the Keweenaw. Its close by a nice bike/jog path.
