The Trading Post made our kayaking trip on the Platte river a great experience. My son who is 11 wanted to try kayaking while on a trip to Traverse City, so I looked online and the Trading Post had the best reviews and boy were they right. From the time I stepped in the door to register till we were... More

The trading post provided great directions to ensure a safe, fun canoe trip down the Platte River. The River gets crowded with tubes and can be difficult to navigate due to the folks who "float and drink." Get there early to avoid the crowd and pack snacks and drinks for the trip.

Honor Trading Post is a first rate operation. Our family (mom, dad, and 2 teenagers) kayaked the Lower Platte River with 2, double kayaks. The check in process was smooth and everything was clearly explained to us. The trip was a lot of fun and we enjoyed both easy float times and a little bit of effort needed to cross... More

Every year we make it a point to canoe the Platte, and Steve takes care of us. The ice cream is the perfect ending.

Our family rented two canoes. We brought our 2 1/2 year old grandchild who sat in the center of one of the canoes. We save deer, turtles, cranes. It was a wonderful and relaxing trip. It was a little windy on Loon Lake so that did require some effort. The Trading Post was very easy to locate and we did... More

We were shown where to park and then shuttled to a starting point. The tubing was very relaxing and scenic. water was warm and the kids greatly enjoyed it as well. At the end we enjoyed our box lunches that we ordered and we had them waiting for us.

This seasonal business is really appreciated in the local area. They're a "party store" kind of place that also rents kayaks & canoes. The thing we appreciate most is the pizza. Freshly handmade by the owner, with tasty sauce & toppings. These are really nice folks - too bad it's only open 5-6 months a year!
