I enjoyed the tulips and the history behind the windmill. The carousel is a cute little diversion for kids (growns ups, even 125 pound grown ups, cannot sit on the horses, fyi). I did not enjoy the employees anxiety about kids picking up already dead/dropped tulips off the ground. Long story short: crying children. Relax folks, you are wearing wood... More

Learned about the Dutch history and the historic windmill. This was part of our bus tour and one of the best learning experiences.

The Island is great place to get pretty photos in the Spring when all the tulips are blooming. The field near the windmill is like a rainbow of tulips. The windmill, the last one allowed to be exported from the Netherlands, is over 200 years old and still functioning. Be sure to take a tour, our guide had lots of... More

If you want to see a windmill, by all means go. If you want to see tulips, skip the windmill and head NE of town to the Veldheer Tulip Garden.

The authentic Dutch windmill is really impressive, and the tour guides are knowledgeable. Worth the $7 admission fee for a view into a "simpler" way of manufacturing.

It is my first spring in Illinois and I was looking for some good place to see tulips, on searching I gound Holland Mi's name and after reading reviews and beleiving on claims of having milliopns of tulips in the form, me, my husband and 2 of our friends decided to go to Holland. To our disappointment first it was... More

Being there during the Tulip Festival (no Stemfest this year!) there were additional attractions set up around the grounds, potters, fabric arts, animal skins, replica military camp, etc. We visited the 200+ year old windmill that was brought from the Netherlands and reconstructed in Holland, Michigan. It is undergoing repairs so we could not see it in operation. When it... More

The Windmill is a Great historical attraction. The restored Organ is fun, and a Historical piece. The windmill tour is a lot of stairs. Windmills over 200 years old are just not Handicap accessible. Being from out of town our expectations were a little higher from reading on line.
