Nice area with wonderful windmill.

This is a working windmill, dismantled and brought over from across the pond. One can walk up all the floors and on each floor hear tidbits from people in native dress re: the workings of a windmill. The other attractions on Windmill Island are worth the trip. We were there during the Tulip Festival and the tulip were beautiful.. Also,... More

I really enjoyed the tour of the windmill. We were able to climb five floors and learn how the working mill grinds grains to sell. We also could go out on a walkway to see the sails up close and see the equipment used to move them. You have a nice view of the grounds and tulip fields from there.... More

The main attraction here is a legit Dutch windmill that you can walk into and get a tour. There are also a few other things but the windmill is why you stop here. My wife and I visited for a couple hours. We carried a baby in a car seat all the way to the top of the windmill- no... More

We were here when the tulips were in bloom. Not sure why you would want to come here at other times. I felt the admission was a little high for what was here. They did have a guided tour of a working windmill.

We hit a great sunny day, the gardens were well done and blooming everywhere. The windmill is a bonus to all the tulips. Parking was easy, and close. This turned out to be an afterthought when planning a Detroit visit, but we are very pleased to take the effort to get to Holland.

As a part of a recent tour to Michigan - this was one of our stops - and Glad we did. The full size operating windmill was reminiscent of those we saw in the Netherlands 2 years ago. The facility is spotless and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful You gotta see it

There were still tulips in bloom the week after the Tulip Festival. This city park also has many perennials, so the gardens are always beautiful. Our guide of the windmill, Debby, was very knowledgeable. The two videos tell the story of the windmill's history and its miller. The staff was very helpful in answering our questions. This is a working... More

My wife and I made a trip to Holland,MI. and saw the tulips at a peek time....beautiful. While at the gardens we saw "America's Only Authentic Working Dutch Windmill" which was very interesting. The walk through the gardens was well worth the price. The windmill is from the Netherlands and a interesting story how it was brought here and rebuilt.... More

My husband and I spent an entire afternoon at Windmill Island recently. We really enjoyed seeing the windmill and taking the tour. We were a little early for full color with the tulips and it was a cloudy day, but it was still a great place to visit. The staff was wonderful! I'm so glad I had read the reviews... More

We specifically went for the tulips. We did not go during Tulip Time concerned that it would be too crowded. So, we arrived a few days after the end of the event. The admission is $8.00 per adult. Walking into the gardens, there is an old fashioned organ, gazebo and some small tulip gardens. Walking over the bridge towards the... More
