The restored and working wind mill was amazing. The flowers planted around the park were breath taking and the tulip festival is worth the visit.

I'm 41 and have been traveling to MI for years, as a child and as an adult. In those 41 years, I have driven past Holland, MI countless times and never stopped. The whole place gave me a real tourist trap vibe. The crown on this self-assumed touristy place was the windmill on the Windmill Island. I will take full... More

Very educational! The employees are great and are very knowledgeable. We took our 5 yr old and 2 yr old and they were entertained. It was great to go on a tour of a working windmill and learn how they work. The garden is beautifully landscaped and well maintained. They also offer free merry-go-round rides for the kids.

Went during the week and after the last tulip was long gone. The windmill was nice to see and the tour was well worth it. Enjoyed the dancers. Not a trip for people who like a lot of action but nice for a quiet stroll in the park.

We went to Windmill Island last August and while we enjoyed it, it wasn't the quality we expected. The windmill was fun to tour. The Dutch dancers weren't as trained as those at the Dutch Village (also in Holland), but the tour guide did a very good job explaining things as we went up the windmill. We really enjoyed the... We went with our grandchildren on a quiet morning, so got lots of attention. There was an old carousel to ride, a short film, some exhibits, a working windmill to tour, Dutch dancers, and more. The grounds are beautiful. There is no place to have lunch, so plan accordingly. However, there are snacks to buy, including traditional licorice (don't miss... More

Expensive for what it is , gardens with windmill and small gift shop. Few demonstrations at set times of clog dance and working fairground organ

We were taking a trip around Lake Michigan and I was looking so forward to going to Windmill Island but once I got there, total disappointment set in. It was late in the day in mid June and the place was pretty empty. I went straight to the windmill itself and waited 15-20 minutes for a tour despite several people... More

Four of us spent a delightful Sunday morning at Windmill Island recently. The draw here is the only authentic working Dutch windmill in the United States, a 260-year-old windmill imported from the Netherlands. It's beautiful. With an engaging young lady as our guide, we visited 4 levels & learned how the mill operated long ago. It is still a working... More

We were surprised that we enjoyed the windmill tour as much as we did. We are a retired couple and stopped there not knowing anything about the park. The organ demonstration and windmill tour were both fascinating and educational. It was so interesting to learn how it all works. Vet he staff was wonderful -- informative, pleasant, and fun!
