While vacationing at the nearby Bay Pointe Inn on Gun Lake, we took a side trip to the Gilmore Car Museum. This place is incredible with so many antique cars in beautiful buildings. Two buildings have been added in the last 2-3 years so we focused in Model A's and the Cadillac building. I have never visited a better place... More

Whether you make this museum a destination trip, or a part of a side trip, you must not pass the opportunity to experience this fabulous view from the past. You must allow yourself at least 3-4 hours to appreciate all this museum has to offer. You will truly want to come back again and again. I am so grateful to... More

I drive for Northview Seniors and spent the last two days, two separate trips, at the Gilmore Car Museum. We were greeted at the door by the staff and what nice people. The buildings and grounds were immaculate! The displays were absolutely dust free and the buildings clear of oil or gas smells. George and Sally's Blue Moon dinner served... More

It is definitely a place worth visiting. Each era of cars has extras from that time period. Really cool displays. If it's a long trip don't plan your meal for the on site diner. It has food but more of the snack variety, great for pie or an ice cream cone.

This is a truly well planned car museum. The buildings and ground are impeccably kept. Each building is a must see and a stroll around the grounds is a wonderful way to spend a afternoon.

This was my first visit to this auto museum. It really was a fantastic spread of auto's of the past. They are on exhibit in several barn type buildings and one central brick building. There also is an old time Shell Gas Station and a restaurant in an old railroad diner car. The food offered was limited but was good.... More

The Gilmore Car Museum is in the middle of now where, but is one of the best collection of automobiles period. They are housed in a museum and throughout the grounds in beautiful barns. There is also a vintage gas station and diner that actually serves food. The volunteers are very friendly and helpful. A Michigan must see!

Very enjoyable place with beautiful cars from the past. The food in the diner was fair and expensive for what it is. It is very worth the trip if you like looking at cars from their beginning.

This is a magnificent experience! There is so much to see and every bit is entertaining and educational. This is coming from the wife of a serious "car guy" who appreciates the visual result of all the hard work that goes into the building of a car but doesn't get the whole mechanical process. Girls, you don't want to miss... More

The Gilmore Car Museum is more than a collection of cars, it is a large campus of automotive history. Last year on our south east road trip we stopped at the Tupelo (Miss) Automobile Museum. The Tupelo Automobile Museum is a very impressive collection of antique autos, but they are on display in a very large garage, nothing fancy, just... More
