Nubs is a place that has the same people in the same positions year after year. These employees are happy, smiling, and remember you as well when they welcome you back. This is a very well managed local ski area. There are no ski/in ski/out condos owned by Nubs Nob, nor is there golf, or any other off season use... More

I am not a good skier but I give it my best. I've been to Nub's many times and love it. Many nice runs for the intermediate level skiers. It's well maintained and not as crowded as a lot of the other places in Michigan. It's also the only one I know of that has a free chair lift for... More

One of the best ski areas in a region with limited elevation. Nub's Nob offers skiers 53 trails serviced by 10 chairlifts. All the lifts are the older and slower vintage; however, with a vertical drop of only 427 feet (130 meters) it does not take too long to get to the top of the hill. For northern Michigan a... More

Skiing: Most every lift is 4-5 min up, 1-2 min down. Lines are short even at peak times, and almost all of the lifts are high capacity (3-4 person). There is a good mix of easy and intermediate trails, a and few more difficult ones. Nubs makes snow and grooms extensively so there aren't many moguls. About 2/3 skiers, 1/3... More

Most of the locals ski here, but we found the runs a bit lacking as compared to Boyne Highlands. While my wife appreciated not having to climb down the stairs in ski boots to go to the bathroom, this resort is like a good Chevrolet, but we prefer to ski the Buick across the street. Glad we tried it, but... More

Christmas skiing is a tradition for us. It isn't crowded and the weather usually favors the skiing. Arriving about 9 a.m. we were able to park in the first row in front of the lodge about forty yards from the ticket windows. All Day Adult Lift tickets were$76 apiece, which seems high for the Holiday skiing when there weren't many... More

Timing is everything. We arrived Petoskey New Years Eve welcomed with 5-6" of fresh snowfall. Even arriving at 10:30am to purchase lift tickets there was no wait. My 15 year old son and I had our first new years goal of skiing 25 runs in 5 hours, allowing an hour for refueling. We accomplished our goal at 430, just in... More

Our family loves to ski at Nubs Nob. The kids had 3 terrific instructors and were skiers after the lessons. The runs are nice and not crowded at all. The lodge is nice and has everything you need.

Nub's Nob is an outstanding ski resort very popular with the locals and families. Not much lodging but there is plenty around. Better snow and lifts than across the street!

We ski Nubs every year - usually at New Year's and occasionally in late winter. So many runs and different areas makes this ski area seem much bigger for a Midwest ski destination. They do a great job at keeping the slopes groomed on busy holiday times. The free beginner chair lift is on the bunny hill is great for... More
