One of the best ski areas in a region with limited elevation. Boyne Highlands offers skiers 55 trails serviced by 8 chairlifts and 2 magic carpet conveyor lifts. With the exception of Heather Express high speed quad, all the lifts are the older and slower vintage; however, with a vertical drop of only 552 feet (168 meters) it does not... More

For those of you who do not ski, you can still have fun here. They offer a great zipline experience, dog sled rides, winter horseback riding, tubing, and fat tire snow-biking! There are three Highland cows (very cool animals) on one of the beautiful hiking/snowshoe trails. The staff is very, very friendly and helpful.

It snowed 4 inches and the wind was howling off the lake, but we really enjoyed the skiing at Boyne Highlands. My college aged daughter really enjoyed the fresh crepe and smoothie bar. We found the runs to be a bit longer than Nubs Nob. Overall we preferred this resort for skiing in northern Michigan.

Let me start of by saying that the only other place I've skied is Snowbird/Alta in Utah so I don't have much resort experience to compare to. My husband and I went for a 3 day weekend as part of our anniversary getaway. We were pleasantly surprised that there was any snow on the mountain as there was just a... More

It was really good, but don't understand why they have several paths closed. Doesn't make sense when they have enough snow.

First family ski trip up north. I can;t really compare to other resorts or ski facilities, because I have limited experience. We had short/manageable waits, and the open runs seemed well-maintained. Staff were friendly and polite. Many of the skiers/snowboarders were surprisingly family friendly (I overheard a few times young adults admonishing their friends to watch their language, although I... More

This a good place to ski or participate in other winter activities such as snowboarding, zip line, dog sled, riding in a snow groomer, etc... Generally the conditions are very favorable - good base, nice mix of natural and man made snow, majority of runs open and all chair lifts working. I appreciate being able to buy 4 hour tickets... My daughters took a full day snowboarding lesson today with Sandy from Amsterdam. It was my youngest daughter Claire's (11 years old) second time snowboarding and she was carving turns (not pretty but carving non the less) by the middle of the day. Overall a great investment! Sandy was great and my daughters loved her.

Enjoyed the room, the breakfast buffet, the pool & hot tub and the chair lift to see the fall colors. Almost took the zipline ride but ran out of time.
