We have been to several Wright homes and this is one of the best. The home has been restored by the Steelcase Co. and they have done a great job. The tour is free and the docents are very knowledgeable. The tour was an hour long. You could take photos. The tours are only available on certain days and times... More

I will preface this by saying that we were unable to tour this home because we were in Grand Rapids on the wrong day. However, we have been into many in IL and PA, and they are all amazing. The outside was typical FLW, and the neighborhood itself is worth the trip.

2nd rated attraction in Grand Rapids, that is only open Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday starting at 1:00pm. We enjoyed it, and driving around the neighborhood at the nice homes. Takes about 1 1/2 hours and is free.

We enjoyed the tour of the May House very much. It was very interesting to see how the renovation was done and then to see the finished product.

We visited the Meyer May House in May 2014, The intro video was interesting, but far better was the tour of the property itself. The space was beautiful. Our docent was knowledgeable, engaging, and pleasant. She didn't gloss over that Wright, despite his artistry, was also deeply flawed as a person: patronizing towards women; and, possibly, a flat-out misogynist. The... More

I'm a huge fan of architecture and Wright is, of course, a major contributor. I have seen his homes in Chicago, Wisconsin, Falling Water, Buffalo, NY and this one takes the cake! Falling water is a masterpiece, but the Meyer May House has this special aspect---an unlimited grant from Case--the furniture company. The home has been rehabbed to the point... More

I've been here many times and always enjoy seeing the house as well as the video about their restoration. What a wonderful gift to the people of Grand Rapids (and us all) from Steelcase! Wish more companies would give back to their community in this way. And it's free!

The docents are very good, the house is very well maintained and if you want to see one of his best homes without the drive to Falling Waters this is a great place

Enjoyed the video which described the restoration process. Had a great docent for the tour. Very worthwhile--and it is free.

We learned of this FLW house renovation from a friend and were SO GLAD we were able to visit. It is the BEST renovation I've ever toured. It was completely and correctly! renovated by Steelcase back in the days when the systems furniture was privately owned and had philanthropic funds available. Grand Rapids is known as the furniture town and... More
