The Meyer May house is one of the things you need to see when in Grand Rapids. The house is so true-to-the-spirit restored and you feel in a different century and life-style. And its free ! First time we went we were turned away cause a bus-load of tourists had suddenly appeared. So it makes sense to call ahead and... More

Had a private tour and dinner as part of a Steelcase trip. The building is wonderfully restored, with seemingly every detail accounted for. They had original light switches, restored or reproduced furniture, and of course all the lovely windows. It was surreal to be able to walk around, sit on chairs, and touch everything (I'm not sure how a normal... More

A visit to the Meyer May house is a lovely way to spend a couple of hours. I have visited several times and still enjoy going back. The restoration of the house was first class done by Steelcase Corporation. The film shown before the house tour is excellent too and shows how the house was painstakingly restored. A visit here... Great example of the work of Frank Lloyd Wright. Years ago, I took my teen age kids who complained right up until we got there, and then they were attentive, and interested in everything the tour guide shared with us.

Tour was okay...guides were very informative. Very quick tour....it was only a two-level house. It was very good though. Schedule this tour in with other stuff you want to do in Grand Rapids.

We have been to several Wright homes and this is one of the best. The home has been restored by the Steelcase Co. and they have done a great job. The tour is free and the docents are very knowledgeable. The tour was an hour long. You could take photos. The tours are only available on certain days and times... More

I will preface this by saying that we were unable to tour this home because we were in Grand Rapids on the wrong day. However, we have been into many in IL and PA, and they are all amazing. The outside was typical FLW, and the neighborhood itself is worth the trip.

2nd rated attraction in Grand Rapids, that is only open Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday starting at 1:00pm. We enjoyed it, and driving around the neighborhood at the nice homes. Takes about 1 1/2 hours and is free.

We enjoyed the tour of the May House very much. It was very interesting to see how the renovation was done and then to see the finished product.
