The Grand Rapids Symphony always does a SUPER job with their New Year's Eve Concerts! We have attended these for several years now and always look forward to something excellent and fun! This year was just as good and as special as previous years and we look forward to what creative things they will come up with in the future.

Fantastic concert, as Grand Rapids has a superb Symphony Orchestra. Wonderful selection of pops type music with about half instrumental and half including soloists. This happens every New Years Eve and we'll definitely do it again. As noted in a hotel review, we stayed at the Prince Conference Center on the Calvin College campus and that completed a really special... More

One of the finest, if not THE finest, regional symphony orchestra in the country. Concerts are always first rate. There is also a wide variety of concert experiences; Classical series, Rising Star series, Pops series, Symphonic Boom (pop culture hits), Great Eras series, Coffee Classics, Family series, Lollipops, and other special events. The symphony chorus and youth chorus have the... More

They put on an excellent show. Would totally go again! Great for the entire family. DeVos is a nice place to watch from. All the seats, except the very top seem to be very good.

My favorite piece was the flute introduction to John Williams score for Memoirs of a Geisha. The whole concert, explanations by the conductor and quality of musical experience a total delight. When orchestras around the country are shutting their doors, Grand Rapids is focusing the light in the right places to sustain the arts.

The GR Symphony routinely has a great mixture of composers and guests. They have an outdoor pops festival at Cannonsburg that is awesome. Check them out and donate if you can.

The 2013 Picnic Pops series has opened at Cannonsburg Ski Area, and once again the symphony sent their beautiful sounds soaring up the hill and to our ears. The 2013 season opened with a patriotic theme, with this show concluding with a bright fireworks show. Join them throughout the summer for celtic fiddles, dance tunes, and the sounds of ABBA.... The Grand Rapids Symphony is not your average "long hair" symphony! Besides the usual classical performances, they also do "Pops" concerts, coffee concerts, outdoor picnic concerts and several times we have been to "Cirque..." concerts with performers along with the symphony music!! Those and the New Year's Eve Specials are our favorites but we would highly recommend ALL of the... More
