I just returned from a work retreat to Meijer Gardens and it was wonderful. There are meeting rooms to make it business friendly, however the beautiful gardens and various greenhouses make work feel more like a vacation. There are houses for various climates from desert to rain forest plus a beautiful, expansive outdoor garden. In addition to the gardens, the... more

'Ego is a closed loop' although the garden is indeed pretty, the amount of signs from the family Meijer and other people that donated the statues, trees, flowers, parkbenches even drinkfountains(!) was reducing the allure of the park significantly. Rarely in my life, I admit I'm european, have I come across such an interesting example of humankinds need and habit... more

Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park is a wonderful western Michigan destination. I do not recommend going if you do not have about three hours to visit. The beauty of the place develops as you settle in and allow your mind, feet and imagination to begin to wander. more

We stopped at the Meijer Gardens on the afternoon of July 4th. There were very few other visitors there and my only regret is that we didn't have more time to spend before the gardens closed at 5 PM. We spent nearly all of our time in the Children's garden, as we have a six year old daughter and two... more

We went for 3 hours mid week and toured the grounds and hothouses. The kid loved the "chocolate" tree and the carnivorous plants. The Children gardens had topiary and a maze as well as a "great Lakes" water table. My wife and I enjoyed the variety of plats and flowers and sculptures generously displayed on the grounds. more

The spring brings in Butterflies and the winter brings in Christmas trees nice attractions and possibly worth your money to visit -but in the summer months you can really appreciate it the most as it will allow children to play and enjoy everything in the Children's garden. Our kids (4&5) can spend hours playing in the tree house, sand area,... more

Incredible walk that included a great deal to photograph and contemplate. Enjoy it, take your time, go earlier in the morning to avoid distractions......not every attraction is intended to please kids, (though this one should). more

We were told by serveral people what a "cool" place this was so we decided to take our 6 year old. We went at the end of March when supposedly the butterflies are hatched and flying everywhere. We seen maybe a dozen butterflies and that was it. There was some gorgeous greenery but we went to see the butterflies; and... more

On our way to Chicago we stopped overnight specifically to visit this attraction. From the moment we turned off the highway onto the grounds, I knew we had made a wise choice. We have never quite seen anything like this sculpture garden. It is very large - good shoes and lots of time (4-6 hours) if you intend to walk... more

Good value; there are many sculptures, covering a huge range of styles, materials and sizes; gardens are attractive; fine for families and disabled; staff friendly; good shop; very good cafe. more
