One of the park rangers recommended this site for us. I am 72 and had done too much walking and climbing at this point and couldn't make the extra trek from the parking lot, but others in my family told me that the view was superb.

I agree with the rest of the crowd. This is well worth the stop. Just a short walk from the parking lot along a wooded trail and then a short climb up a sand dune brings you to the top of a very long and steep sandy slope next to Lake Superior. Keep a close eye on the kids for... More

surprised you are allowed to do this. The view is commanding, 300' high cliff. You can tumble down a 500' sand slope to the water and swim but then you have to climb back up, which can take an hour or more. worth a look, watch kids closely and don't go down without water and the ability to climb out.

Great place to stop and watch the exhausted people climb back to the top. One of the guys in our group took the challenge and went down and up in 14 min 44 sec. If the flies and mosquitoes are out they will be here attacking you as well. Sand gets really warm so kids should have shoes or sandals.

This was one of my favorite areas to explore while visiting. There is a view of Lake Superior that is outstanding. In fact we came back later in the day just to sit in the sand and stare out at the water.

WOW! We visited this and was awed by the spectacular views. It's a short walk to get there from the parking lot, and a short climb up a sand dune to see it. It reminded me of The Sleeping Bear Dunes. The logging history was pretty neat too. Well worth the trip there to see this amazing spot!

Had no idea this sight would be so spectacular. Enjoyed learning about the logging history of the area. Took to heart the posted warning to not attempt sliding down the dunes.

On my first visit, in 1977, I was almost carried away by black flies. I really did not think I would ever return. Now that we have been visiting every summer (we may have missed one) since, I remember the bug repellent. The views are breathtaking! If you are a climber, think about the power of gravity before heading down... More

We visit the logslide all the time. We also love to hike the dunes. Bring water and have fun! All of the stops along the Pictured Rocks National Park are amazing.
