Great course but not likely to replay

The course is truly cut out of the forest. It's a long cart ride to the 1st tee and back from 18. The greens don't have a flat spot on them. Very challenging especially from the... read more

Very sad to see a beautiful course, nice layout, let to waste away. It appears the end is near and the course and staff knows it

This course could truly be a beauty! But the owners have given up on this course, from sand bunkers to greens, let alone to the non existing staff. Big waste of money, truly disappointed, for a course that once had it!!!

This was year 3 of our two day golf trip and on day two we played 18 at Black Forest. Spectacular is how I'd describe the course. Each hole is unique and the ride through the forest between holes was a great adventure. The view from 16 and 17 were the best two holes I've ever played. 18 was jaw... More

2006 was my first experience of the Black Forest course, I thought "Dang, this is nice, I can't wait to come back!" Played the same course again in 2012 or 13 and I was in awe from the neglect, lack of passion for the course and so much more. I did notice a sign stating that there were some renovations... More

You can tell that there is no money being put into the course. They are not doing anything to make one of the best courses in the state live up to its billing. To start with NO sand in bunkers, Weeds on the greens and clover overtaking the fairways. Was just disappointed with the course after hearing how great it... More

We golfed there this past weekend. It is a beautiful layout but shows that there has not been money put into the tee boxes or greens.

It was tauted as a must play and I was very excited as this was my 1st time to play this course. However, the greens were in awful shape unless you like putting through spotty dirt greens (which mimiced the crappy practice green). Make shift driving range (which was a sign of things to come). Signs of course neglect everywhere... More

Nice course cut out of the woods...no homes here. Difficult but entertaining greens...don't go if low score is a must as the undulating greens will most likely add 5-10 strokes to your score. It's fun and unique. Shows signs of neglect at the service end of the business, clubhouse, and other areas. The roof on the maintance building is all... More

The course is truly cut out of the forest. It's a long cart ride to the 1st tee and back from 18. The greens don't have a flat spot on them. Very challenging especially from the blue and black tees. Seemed a lil under staffed. One person to work the bag drop, pro shop, and bar area. I know it... More

We just came back from a golf trip to Gaylord. We played this course and we played it last year too. We like the course as it's holes are very interesting, so it stays on our 'nice course to play' list--'keep it on the list' list. However, I did see signs that there might be other issues about the course.... More
