We did the short route, since we had a lot of ground to cover that day. But we ended up spending a lot of time at the top because it was so beautiful. Not difficult and highly recommended.

Short easy hike. Well worth the amazing view once you get up there. If you were on a budget, and didn't want to pay the $10 for the Sleeping Bear scenic drive, do this trail, and the sunset at Empire Bluff Trail, and there is two breaktaking free views! Follow the signs advice...if you aren't in excellent shape, and work... More

Nice hike thought the woods, gradual uphill slopes that are medium difficulty. Beautiful View at the end with a steep dune down to the water if you are feeling adventurous.

We've been vacationing in northern Michigan for years and somehow overlooked this particular hike on our many trips to the area. I've always been a fan of Pierce Stocking Drive and all the beautiful views from the various overlooks. This is another one of those fantastic views. The day we were there it was somewhat hazy in the distance so... More

We took the trail straight to the Lake Michigan overlook. The trail to the overlook was about 0.7 miles but the pretty views were worth the effort. Even though the trail was busy, we were still able to find a secluded spot at the overlook and it felt as though we had the point to ourselves. There was a meadow... More

My family of five took this trail on a clear, cool afternoon in July. It was terrific! The trail, although uphill, was not difficult, and the view was gorgeous. We spent time at the lookout point just taking in the scenery. There were some making the trek down the dune to the lake (although there's a warning not to). We... More

My boyfriend and I were out hiking around Empire last weekend and decided to check out the Pyramid Point trail. I especially loved the trail because of the drive through Glen Arbor and Port Oneida rd. I enjoyed seeing all of the old farms along the way. The trail itself is secluded, and begins with a short walk through field... More

The view at the Point is beautiful. However, we took the meadow trail as well. What a wonderful surprise - the meadow is so diverse, but be prepared for a horrendous VERY STEEP and VERY LONG climb out. I am 74 yrs and my husband 77. We were tired but it was well worth it. We especially enjoyed the 3... More

Just a short, yet steep hike to one of the most wonderful views of Lake Michigan! If you visit in the summer, be sure to bring something to keep the bugs away, and beware of poison ivy on the sides of the trail.

The first section of this trail is a snooze, but the last few yards are prettty rough for we over 60 folks! However, the view at the top is well worth the hike. I would caution those who are tempted to hike down to the beach - it's a loong way down - and even worse, a really tough climb... More
