My family of five took this trail on a clear, cool afternoon in July. It was terrific! The trail, although uphill, was not difficult, and the view was gorgeous. We spent time at the lookout point just taking in the scenery. There were some making the trek down the dune to the lake (although there's a warning not to). We... More

My boyfriend and I were out hiking around Empire last weekend and decided to check out the Pyramid Point trail. I especially loved the trail because of the drive through Glen Arbor and Port Oneida rd. I enjoyed seeing all of the old farms along the way. The trail itself is secluded, and begins with a short walk through field... More

The view at the Point is beautiful. However, we took the meadow trail as well. What a wonderful surprise - the meadow is so diverse, but be prepared for a horrendous VERY STEEP and VERY LONG climb out. I am 74 yrs and my husband 77. We were tired but it was well worth it. We especially enjoyed the 3... More

Just a short, yet steep hike to one of the most wonderful views of Lake Michigan! If you visit in the summer, be sure to bring something to keep the bugs away, and beware of poison ivy on the sides of the trail.

The first section of this trail is a snooze, but the last few yards are prettty rough for we over 60 folks! However, the view at the top is well worth the hike. I would caution those who are tempted to hike down to the beach - it's a loong way down - and even worse, a really tough climb... More

Hikers are encouraged to walk the trail to Pyramid Point but are told not to walk down the bluff for two reasons: 1) it is bad for erosion on the bluff, and 2) some people have to be rescued. We abided by the wishes of the park and enjoyed the official trail. Be sure to pick up the brochure at... More

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! Totally worth the short, but somewhat brutal hike. Definitely a must if you live in the area, or for visitors.

The first time we did this hike we didn't know what we were in for. The initial hike is beautiful and ends with an unbelievable view of Lake Michigan. Then you are tempted to hike down the sand dune to waters edge. When you begin, the slope seems steep and you don't realize exactly how steep it actually becomes until... More

A little out of the way, but worth seeing. IF YOU LIKE TO HIKE UP 45+ degree sand dunes, go here. Don't get caught at the bottom because it could mean miles of extra walking if you can't come back up.

I have been visiting Pyramid Point since my college days. Back then, it was kinda secret - always had the place to ourselves. Now it is marked on maps, has a parking lot, etc. So the secrets out! Spectacular and worth the hike! Don't bother with Meadow trail unless you want some great exercise!
