The hike from the car lot to the view point is quite simple. The path is a nice walk and is worth it once you get to the lookout. You have the option to climb down the sand to the water. It's pretty neat, but is tiring making your way back up in the slippery sand. I would still recommend... More

One of the most beautiful area lookouts over Lake Michigan. Accessible for most people, it's a lovely hike through a birch forest and then an amazing overlook of the Manitou island and an active Lake Michigan shipping channel.

The hike will have you stop to catch your breath at the top, but you'll be rewarded by the incredible view. Don't miss and take your camera.

This trail starts right off with a nice hike through a small clearing in the woods and then goes up in sand (but not to difficult - packed pretty good) through woods. So pretty in the fall! It splits but there is a sign, and then suddenly you are right out on top looking out & down at amazing blue/turquoise... More

We hiked this trail on September 4, 2015. This hike is uphill and slightly challenging. If you are in good shape, then this hike is no problem. When you reach the top, you are on a cliff about 150 feet above Lake Michigan and on a clear, sunny day (we were there on a clear sunny day), you can see... More

We have a vacation home nearby and this is one of our families favorite hikes. It can be very busy but most hikers just take the up and back overlook hike. I highly recommend the dune loop. The overlook hike is beautiful but adding the dune loop opens up whole new hike with dune climbs, meadows and a deep Beech... More

Easy hike, even with 4 young kids. Beautiful scenery. Just stunning. I would do this hike every time I come to the area!

The short hike (we did not do the whole 4 miles - just parked and walked up the aprox. half a mile) was beautiful and quiet. And the view from the top made the drive and walk worth it. The guests I brought from out of town to see it were really blown away.

Best view of the entire area!! Trail is a bit of an uphill hike but the scenery at the top is the best overall of the area. Not crowded.
