Went there a again this year. Snowmobiles could ride a bit into the woods which made for a shorter walk. Concession stand is only open on weekends. Went on a Tursday and had the whole place to our selves. So beautiful.

Eben Junction is convenient to get to from Marquette or Munising and we struck out the day after a blizzard to see the caves. We saw the yellow signs for "Ice Caves" after getting into Eben Junction and followed them back to a parking area that had been plowed out the day before. Thank you to whoever keeps that road... Nice place to visit and the caves were wonderful. Was there on a Sunday and the trail was poorly marked due to fresh snow and there was no one manning the concession for directions but found my way

30 minutes south and east of Marquette this is a great 1/2 day activity for couples or families. The caves were beautiful and several climbers made for great people watching.

Drove from St. Ignace to see these caves and they were awesome! If wanting to go into caves, you must wear some ice cleats or something like it. Watched people fall trying to get into caves with just boots on. You can bring dogs but don't recommend it. They said it was a mile hike round trip. 2/3 of hike... More

Wow! I happened to see a post on fb about this, and we took the trip to see it. The best advice is to wear Yakk Trax or another ice cleat on your boots. Most of the walk isn't bad, but then you come to steep uphill and down, and they were great going into the caves. There was a... More

Located on US-41 in Baraga County, this area is also known as the "Grand Canyon of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula". The trail is an easy walk along a combination of boardwalk (through swampy areas) and a well defined dirt trail passing through a mature forest. Soon, the trail parallels the Sturgeon River and we begin to see a series of cascading... More

It's well worth the drive out there- about 20 miles from Munising- There is approximately a one half mile hike from the parking area to the caves. The snow was so packed by the time we had visited that we did not need any equipment (just had snow boots) to get out there. You cross an open field before reaching... More

My husband and I rode our snowmobiles out to Eben Junction via snowmobile route 8. There is a small sign that points to the direction of the Ice Caves and where parking is available for cars. Snowmobile'rs are allowed to park closer to the trail head by the trees. It's a good walk into the caves. The sign says it's... More

We trekked in right before noon and had the place to ourselves! I have to say that in -25 degree weather I was a little annoyed at the never ending trail that leads up to it but was very awe struck when finally it appeared like a mini mt. everest right around the trail bend. It's smaller than what the... More
