This is hidden Gem because its in a neighborhood that used to be very lavish and because most of the cities residents have forgotten about it and its history of entertainers that performed there in the past. Non-locals frequent more often than the locals however, they still showcase local as well as national artist. The atmosphere is one that only... More

Baker's Keyboard lounge is a classic jazz club - despite having lived in the Detroit area for 20 years I only recently went there with my husband, and was transported back to some of the best clubs in Philly and Boston I had frequented more than 30 years ago! The food is wonderful (though leave your diet at home), servers... More

My date and I, while visiting Detroit, were looking for an authentic jazz club. We heard about Baker's on TripAdvisor and decided to go. We were a bit intimidated by the neighborhood and the building's exterior, but were glad we went in. The soul food, helpful waiters, and eclectic music made for a great evening. We'll need to go back... More

Every comes here for music and so did I - it was a nice jazz evening, including the earlier karaoke/ open mic. The place as such is awesome. But the food and service... must have been a really bad night for us. No one approached us for the first 45-50mins, then we had to wait for the menus for another... More

Tiny Jazz Club near Woodward and Eight Mile has been around for more than 70 years. Fabulous fried chicken with delicious sides at a very reasonable price. The portions were so huge the 3 of us wisely share one order so we had room for the amazing peach cobbler. The Jazz set started at 8 but the Happy Hour singer... More

We came on a Sunday night, which is apparently their open-jam night with no cover. I'm glad we did since it was a phenomenal night of music. There is a house band of about 4 musicians who keep things going and various people are able to join them throughout the night. I'm not sure if it is like this every... More

What a neat little hidden secret! The food was delicious, a bit greasy, but full of flavor. The music was perfect and the sound level was not too loud. The wait staff was attentive and fast. A perfect date night out.

Stopped in for an after dinner . Cheered for the band and the smooth groves.... But the peach cobbler stolen the show. We will go again and again.

This is an outstanding venue for local and national talent. I have attended numerous times and always had a blast. The food (soul food) is some of the best I have period. Dont be intimidated by the crowds, worth the wait for the experience. Good parking lot security. Check the website for the entertainment. Highly Recommended!
