This museum is dedicated to the long maritime history of the Great Lakes. One of the neat exhibits of the museum is the S.S. William Clay Ford Pilot House built right into the museum, overlooking the Detroit River and the Canadian shoreline. A fine, if quirky, museum dedicated to Great Lakes shipping. Has lots of ship models, and all are at the same scale so you can tell how the industry has developed. Also exhibits on the history of the industry and the people who worked on the lakes in a variety of jobs. Plus the actual bridge from a Ford Co.... more
