Just another regular american city

Go to see the Henry Ford Museum, and drive the downtown. If at night be careful not to go to certain areas because is dangerous.

BIG Buildings and streets that seem almost empty compared to about 15 years back. Its not a good idea to walk by yourself. Company of friends is advisable. People commented and come ask for money.

Where do I begin? My identity was stolen, Wells Fargo has no branch within a 100 miles I had already entered my travel plans on line but when I called the 24 hour number they thought I was in Washington state? Never been there? Had no record of my travel entry at all. Hotels preauthorizations were inaccurate and you can't... More

We were around Detroit downtown on a car and found better than what we read and heard. Finally we stop over at Belle Island and really enjoyed the view of Windsor, Canada across the river. The "Dossin Great Lakes Museum" visit give me good knowledge about the great lakes and was interesting for all of families.

From what I heard for years in the media that Detroit has gone downhill, it really got me thinking if I had to prepare for a conference I was going to attend in the city. The reality actually, is that it is not much different than any other city. Downtown was actually quite nice to explore, though if something is... More

The New Year's Eve "D drop" is located downtown at Woodward and Congress streets near Campus Martius park. The crowd starts to gather around 7/8 pm but you can still get a good spot until about 11p. There is a great Pub nearby called Grand Trunk to wait out the cold weather with no cover charge. It's not the balldrop... More

Come see the International Harbor Walk (nice views of Canada),Cobo Hall,Cadillac Sq, Greek Town, ride the People Mover or go see a show at the Fisher or The Fox or many other theatres. Or take a boat ride on the Detroit River. Or eat at the many authentic eateries. Lot's of hole in the walls to eat as well. No trip... More

I recently took a work transfer to Detroit from South Africa. Before I moved, I read horrible reviews online and was quite nervous when I first arrived, but what I have seen does not correlate to the online reviews at all! Downtown is great fun, with a lot of restaurants and fun, exciting things to do. Its so sad that... More
