Be careful when you go here.

I went down for some concertd in the summer ans for the fireworks. There are police and security there but some people decide they want to shoot guns in to the crowd.

Have been going here for years since childhood, most recently watched the annual fireworks display in late June 2014. Great concrete city park on Detroit River for enjoying an afternoon strolling along the riverfront. Awesome sculptures and lounging areas as well. Vendor food options available during the day. Very close and easy walking access to other downtown Detroit attractions. Perfect... More

After leaving the GM Ren Cen, you come out to the either start or end portion of the Detroit Riverfront path that runs about 3 miles from here to Belle Island. There are a few monuments here with a look and for some photo stops and I guess if it was nicer weather maybe a fun family hangout spot, but... More

This is NOT a plaza, in the traditional sense of the word. What We do have, is a venue that holds large numbers of people together, for special events. A small Amphitheater, a water fountain, and an excellent view of the Detroit River, are thrown in ,for good measure. The powers that Be, weren't too anxious to yield this prime... More

Was on a tour of downtown Detroit and walked through the park. I guess with the city's bankruptcy... maintenance has not been a priority here. The fountain was not on, and looked as if had not been on in some time with all the grass growing through the pavers. I would skip this and head down to the ricer front... More

I've been to Hart Plaza many times and have always struggled to get the gist of what it's supposed to be. It became clear to me on my most recent visit when I spent the day there with some European friends, showing them around Detroit. One woman who was with us thought the monuments looked like tributes to communism. I... More

Memorial to the Underground Railroad is impressive, right on the river. Nice view across the river to Windsor, Canada

Couldn't see much due to snow blocking to side walks. Did see Canada and was a great sight and the big fist statue. Could use better cross walks and parking.

The only reason we go here is because it is close to the riverfront/riverwalk. Otherwise it is a giant park of concrete and metal that lacks beauty. Festivals happen here but otherwise not a great park. A little scary at night and could use a guard/ patrol or too when it's dark.
