Beautiful venue, top-notch orchestra--consistently one of the best in the world! If you suburbanites are scared of going in to the big, bad city to see them, the DSO does put on remote performances at various times throughout the year. Check them out if the opportunity arises, you won't regret it. Every performance I've witnessed has been stellar, guests are... More

Top rated orchestra. A pleasure to listen to. Their festivals focusing on a particular composer are addictive. For example, Beethoven (2013-2014 season) and Tchaikovsky this past season presented a wonderful opportunity to hear many of their works.

I can’t stand it!!! This is soooo great!!! “The Music of Pink Floyd” accompanied by the full Detroit Symphony Orchestra! Soooo moving!!! I go to “Mix at the Max” #DSOMix as often as I can, but this is only my second time inside orchestra hall with the full orchestra. Fantastic! Last week I was here with Terence Blanchard’s performance as... More

My best friend and I went to see 'Gamyo plays Mozart' and it was absolutely incredible! An amazing and magical experience each and every time. A great way to spend the weekend!

Have seen the DSO numerous times, playing classical, broadway tunes, modern music, etc. A versatile and superb group of musicians led by a very fine conductor, Leonard Slatkin. Definitely a very worthwhile visit.

I am from a place where the local symphony rarely strays from pieces such by Vivaldi, Strauss, Tchaikovsky. So being able to see the Detroit Symphony play a Benjamin Britten and Arvo Part was really a treat.

At the urging of friends we included this is a weekend visit to Detroit filled w/cultural experiences- an opera, Frida Kahlo at the DIA, a play at Wayne State University and a Coffee Concert here.. The visual treat on entering the space was incredible, on a par with the beauty of European theaters!! This 10:45a.m. Friday concert starts with doughnuts... More

We went to the Golden Age of Broadway performance, which featured Doug LaBrecque and Lisa Vroman, and it was terrific. What voices! The symphony and venue are both very fine, as well. Parking was as close as possible and reasonably priced. The disappointment was the seating- we paid for Dress Circle seats, and should have saved money by buying seats... More

We attended the Home for the Holidays concert at Orchestra Hall, located on 3663 Woodward Avenue (be aware of LOTS of construction on Woodward avenue). The Detroit Symphony Orchestra sounded fantastic in the acoustically perfect Orchestra Hall. The choirs ... which included Detroit Children's Choir "midtown concert chorale", Bloomfield Hills high school "the Jills", Bloomfield High School Chamber Choir, and... More

The symphony and venue are both excellent and worth visiting. I would have rated it five stars except for the very long wait to get out of the parking structure. Last time I visited I was at the top and it took 40 minutes (literally!) to get out. I went very early this time so that I could park closer... More
