Even during non-business hours you can see some of the highlights of this building. I read about the Guardian Building on Trip Advisor and even though it was 9 PM on a Saturday night we decided to walk by the building and admire it at least from the outside. You can actually see in through the closed doors to view... More

Probably one of the most underrated works of pure art-deco architecture anywhere in the country. Unique building being wasted by the counties presence.

You could literally look at the walls of this building for at least an hour. It was so beautiful and there was so much detail.

This building is superb, both outside and inside. You cannot visit or climb but you can admire the huge well preserved main level. This hosts a bank, a cafe and even a shop. Definitely recommended.

Wow! How beautiful it is inside this building. Unfortunately we went there on Sunday afternoon and the cafeteria was closed. It was nice spending some time inside paying attention to all the details, the ornaments, the architecture of the place. Love it! Definitely a must go place in Detroit. One more to the list.

We took the free Pure Detroit tour of the Guardian Building and thoroughly enjoyed it! The building was absolutely amazing. We learned a great deal on our tour and would recommend it to anyone visiting Detroit.

This was a gem we wandered into after a server suggested we check it out. You can see such interesting design work on the interior. Well worth the stop.

Very nice architecture. A great place to visit after touring Pewabic Pottery to see how the ceramics were applied. A nice old building with a nice old lobby.

If the outside intrigues you … the inside will amaze you. With a 10 minute walk-thru, you’ll enjoy. But spend double, triple, or quadruple the time to get a “feel” for the place. The architecture is amazing and colors are marvelous. The clock is often overlooked, stunning. The lobby is mostly a bank (it’s original purpose), but it now houses... More
