Beautiful art deco building from Detroit's heyday

Nice place to walk in and explore while enjoying a well above average cup of coffee at the cafe. Worth a visit.

You can self guide the tour of the lobby. It is well worth the half hour it will take you to see the tiled ceilings and stained glass Art Deco windows. So worth the time!!

I know there are tours of Detroit offering to take you around to some of these buildings, but really a tour is not necessary. A sat nav will take you straight to it, and there is no shortage of on street parking nearby. Well, in January at least.

Highly recommended tour for locals and tourists! This building is such a unique gem. Pure Detroit offers free tours. The tour guide was very knowledgable and friendly. They didn't warn me that part of the tour is outside so dress accordingly. Excellent way to spend an hour in the D.

At one time the Guardian Building was the tallest brick building in the country! Originally a bank, the teller windows are still used, there is a Bank of America branch there now. One of the most visually stunning buildings in the country. Stop in at the coffee bar, sit at one of the table and take it all in. Definitely... More

Great example of Art Deco architecture. The Guardian is a bold, powerful, and solid building in Detroit's Financial District. It is remarkable, stunning, and breathtaking. Swing by anytime when walking around downtown.

We went on a tour of the Guardian Building given by Pure Detroit. The building is beautiful and a must see for all. The architecture is awesome and the materials used are one of a kind. The Pure Detroit Tour of the Guardian Building is free. I recommend it highly, but if you have young children, you are going to... More

I think this was the first time I have ever been in the Guardian Building. Such gorgeous granite, tiles, murals and structure. I went on the Pure Detroit tour last Sunday. The urban planner who guided the tour, was so full of great information. It was a great tour that I highly recommend!

This building is so beautiful. The architecture is a fantastic example of art deco. If you live in the area you should go see this gem. If you are from out of town, you must put this on your sightseeing list.
