I have been going to this restaurant for over 20 years and not one time have I ever been disappointed. The prices are more than reasonable. Great authentic Mexican food.

I spent five months on a management detail in Detroit during the late 90's (Februay 2015 was the oldest choice on the pop up) and I had lunch or dinner at least once a week. There are several authentic Mexican restaurants and a full service market. It is a few miles from south of the Downtown area. Overall, the food... More

As many reviews of Detroit have noted, safety is probably the Number One concern when going out at night in strange neighborhoods in Detroit. Mexicantown is probably more safe than most, but still an adventure. We found El Asador to be top notch; others not up to West Coast standards.

Although I had heard of Detroit’s Mexicantown previously, I had never had the opportunity to visit nor make it a priority when travelling to the area; however, with a recent business meeting near the Ambassador Bridge ending just prior to lunch, I researched a place to eat and discovered Mexicantown was just west of the bridge with many highly rated... Lupitas is still there offering up killer authentic (and cheap) tacos of all sorts. Great place for the family. Someone told me they are trying to add expensive hipster restaurants here. Please don't. It's just fine the way it is.

We hadn't been in Mexicantown for a number of years and we stopped here to eat before the Red Wings game and pick up some provisions from the Honey Bee Market. Our lunch was fantastic and we got some unique ingredients at The Honey Bee. We decided to come back to a different restaurant after the game and have a... More

I love Mexican town because everywhere you look, restaurants!!! I have never ate at a Mexican place that I did not like. They also have an amazing corner bakery that you can load a school lunch tray with goodies and they are super cheap and good!

If you are up for real Mexican food, this is your stomping ground. Food is great, inexpensive, and there is lots of it. Try the margaritas........
