We hadn't been in Mexicantown for a number of years and we stopped here to eat before the Red Wings game and pick up some provisions from the Honey Bee Market. Our lunch was fantastic and we got some unique ingredients at The Honey Bee. We decided to come back to a different restaurant after the game and have a... More

I love Mexican town because everywhere you look, restaurants!!! I have never ate at a Mexican place that I did not like. They also have an amazing corner bakery that you can load a school lunch tray with goodies and they are super cheap and good!

If you are up for real Mexican food, this is your stomping ground. Food is great, inexpensive, and there is lots of it. Try the margaritas........

While visiting Detroit, my family took me to Mexicantown for a great dinner. The food is as close as any Mexican food in California as I live in California and was surprised how great the food was and of the different recipes. I had Fish Enchiladas and they were very filling. Excellent family restaurant with plenty of off street parking.

"Mexicantown" makes it sound like there's an actual downtown area of a small town, but this is a neighborhood. As such, you're going to find some good. Some bad. And some ugly. Be prepared for all three. I will warn you to be prepared to drive around a lot--unlike other ethnic enclaves, Mexicantown is pretty big, and there's no clearly... More

Mexicantown is a small neighborhood filled with a handful of shops and restaurants. We enjoyed browsing through a Mexican import store who seemed "unfriendly" until we discovered that she was more comfortable speaking Spanish vs English. Then she opened up and my wife and her carried on for a good 20 minutes! Very good selection of Mexican Folk Art and... More

For as long as I can remember Mondays was Canadian money at par. We have enjoyed many Mondays drinking margs and eating great food. Try to find a bakery with cream cheese and jalepeno filling.
