We just returned from our second trip of what I call "the island" and it was as incredible as our first trip was June '09. I posted a review under the hotel after our first trip but I'm posting my second review under the casino as 'counter-programming' to the negative reviews I've read here. This casino is first class all... more

This is a very nice casino. There are lots of things to do...eat, drink, gamble, relax, shop. Something for everyone. There are slots and tables. The staff was nice. TIp: they have a free fountain pop machine back in a corner by the bathrooms. If you go to the bar and ask for a pop it is 2.00 and if... more

Tighten up the slots and tighten up the comps, and here you have MGM Detroit. I've been here when the place is empty-dirty!, been here when it's busy-dirty! High end boutiques which lined the gaming floor-gone and boarded up. Buffet was great when they first opened, now everything tastes bland and out of a can. Also not fun swatting away... more

I was pleasantly surprised to see how well the casino looked inside. It was tastefully done. The art work of the walls and dining places were really nice! I wish I had enough time to go there and enjoy it (I was only able to stay for half an hour : ( ) I am thinking of coming back soon... more

Have visited this casino 4 times. 3 times at night on the weekend. Most recent visit was weekday in the morning. Disappointing every time. We like to play Blackjack. Very few blackjack tables and they are always crowded night or day. Forget about sitting at a table with friend(s) cuz there is always a crowd thus difficult to find two... more

I was sent a mailer for matching competitor free play. I went to the casino to use the free play promotion only to be told that it is not working and hasn't been for two weeks. I asked why then was I not told that when I called that morning. The manager of the Playersclub took my information plus my... more

We went there for Christmas and the place was so dirty I could hardly stand it. You can't find a ash tray at all. The help seems to be hidden and the money machines are always broken down or out of "Service". No one was picking up empty cups etc. We went to the buffet for dinner and I couldn't... more

Just went to the new MGM Grand in Detroit. I have to say it was one of the worst experiences of my life. I have attempted to file a complaint and keep recieving the run around. There service in general is horrible. I waited over 2 hours to get help from valet for my car that was blocking traffic in... more

Nov.12, 2008 Visit to MGM Detroit: 1. No Clamato Juice for Ceasars 2. No breakfast after 10:30 3. Mail offer for $10.00 free play they said was a mistake 4. The biggest insult, I tried to tip the cashier with a loonie and she slid it back to me and said they couldn't change it. I mailed a letter to... more
