Description: Open year round, Castle Farms is one of Northern Michigan's top historic...
Open year round, Castle Farms is one of Northern Michigan's top historic attractions, as well as one of the Midwest's premier wedding venues. Visitors can stroll throughout the magnificent stone buildings dating back to 1918, and enjoy gorgeous gardens. A variety of museum quality collections featuring castles, antique toys, and royalty memorabilia from around the world are displayed throughout the buildings. The Castle's 1918 Museum showcases items from that time era, plus World War I memorabilia. Children delight in feeding the huge rainbow trout swimming in the Reflection Pond, playing a game of giant chess, or hide-and-seek with the fairies and gnomes dwelling in the Enchanted Forest. Our Self-Guided Tours offer Scavenger Hunt tours for children, too! Everyone loves The Castle's Garden Railroad; with more than 1/2 mile of track and 68 G-scale trains, it's one of the largest in the State. Listed on both the National and State Historic Registries, Castle Farms is a world-class historic property where old world charm and modern-day elegance enchant visitors of all ages.

Visitors can take a guided tour or go on a self-guided tour. We opted to do the self-guided tour. This allowed us to linger in the areas we found most interesting to us and breeze through those areas that did not interest us. For the most part, this property is set up for special events like weddings. So don't expect... More

We traveled over 100 miles to visit this place for my dad's birthday. I had checked their website to see if they were opened, and there were no notices about them being closed. My mom tried calling the day before we were meant to go there to confirm if they were open, and she underwent endless answering menus and finally... More

This is an awesome place to visit for any age. The castle was originally a dairy farm, but build in the style of a castle. There are many building, gardens and also areas for children to enjoy! This is our 2nd visit and I am sure that we will do it again when we are in the area. There is... More

We recently went to Castle Farms this month while on a family trip and the kids and the adults loved it. Beautiful grounds, friendly staff and the scavenger hunt engaged our group to really get involved in the history. We recommend checking this place out if you are in the area.

We were impressed by the landscaping and the very friendly staff. The self guided tour map contained a good amount of information and their was a lot to see within the buildings as far as history of the farm, renovations, and its many uses throughout the years. Young children will probably really enjoy the train garden. There are trains of... More

Thanks for letting us know how much you enjoyed exploring our beautiful property. While Castle Farms does host weddings and other private events throughout the year, guests on tour are always welcome to visit the buildings and historic collections displayed throughout. While the Castle has no restaurant on site (our owner believes the historic stones would absorb the cooking odors),... More

While on vacation my family went up to visit The Castle and we were not disappointed. The staff was very friendly. The grounds and landscaping were just beautiful, everywhere you looked. It's been more than a dozen years since I've toured this historic site - and then, the grounds were still in a state of disrepair. When I had the chance to enjoy a farm-to-table dinner AND a guided twilight tour (on a night when the meteor showers were to be about the best of the year), I jumped at the... More

This was originally a dairy farm from the early 1900s with Norman architecture. It is mainly used as a wedding venue, and a place with a wide variety of nice gardens to see. The stone architecture and layout of the grounds were very nice, but the gardens (approximately a dozen) were the main attraction. A very good small museum on... More

We had our wedding here and location is beyond beutiful. The pictures don't do justice on how beutiful the castle and its gardens are. The staff is so friendly and they also do tours beyond the wedding venues.

We had a day to spend in the Charlevoix / Petoskey area and one of stops was at Castle Farms.
