We spent the day, and found plenty of things to do. I have a teenage son, and two daughters, 9 and 11. We took the self-guided tour, which allowed us to spend more time at the locations we enjoyed the most. The castle really is lovely, and it would be a gorgeous setting for a wedding.

At first I wasn't really sure what to expect when I saw that Castle Farms was a leading tourist attraction for Charlevoix. We came for a guided tour on a Wednesday morning and the weather was a bit rainy, but that didn't stop us from having a great time! The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and told lots of interesting... More

It was just ok, I expeced it to be a little classier. Wait staff was clearing tables while we were still eating and ran out of "glass" ware before dinner even started. Served wine in plastic throw a way cups. Felt very rushed.

Went 2 weddings there and both were done very well, like royalty. Food was good and the help was great. Great venue overall.

Really cool building- we were in the Kings Hall and it felt regal. Staff was friendly, grounds were really nice. They handle weddings well. Good recommendation for the area.

We always enjoy hearing from guests touring the Castle, and we also love hearing from bridal couples and their guests. I am so glad we decided to visit this amazing property! My parents were sleeping in and we decided a little road trip before brunch would be good and had heard about this amazing place. Well, it did not disappoint........the restoration work, the gardens and ponds, the little forest path......all done to perfection, absolutely stunning place to spend some time... More

Most of the rooms were being decorated for upcoming weddings that weekend. I think if someone was looking for a place to host a wedding, this would be an excellent location and it would definitely be worth checking out. For tourists though, it's just okay. Most of the trains weren't operating.

Thank you for sharing your recent experience while visiting Castle Farms. The Castle buildings and grounds are quite extensive, and on weekends we do host numerous events. We’re sorry the trains weren’t operating on the day of your visit. Unfortunately, we have no control over the weather, and the harsh winter / spring we experienced played havoc with our railroad... It will take at least 30 minutes to drive there from Charlevoix, but it is well worth the drive. If you go around the South side of Lake Charlevoix you can even take a ferry ride. If you take the North shore you can drive through Hemmingway's old town of Walloon Lake. Either way it is a scenic drive.

We were at the castle farms for a wedding on may 24 and I have experienced the worst service I have ever had at a venue. First of all, while we were waiting to be seated for the wedding, the young man working the event did not properly know the timeline of the event. He told us we would be... More
