If you're down in the area be sure to stop here. We got to Warren Dunes early in the morning and were able to climb a lot of the dunes! Great views from the top and a lot of fun too! The dunes are wide open and un crowded and climbing them is well worth it! Be sure to stop... More

Stayed in one of the cabins at the Warren Dunes State park Camp Ground. A no frills, 4 bunk bed, with electricity small but water tight cabin. It was comfortable enough for us. (3 adults) Camp Store had everything we needed and the staff there were very friendly and knowledgeable. The Park Staff did their best to keep the bathrooms... More

Our family of six (kids ages 11-13) enjoyed a fun day trip from Chicago, about 1.5hrs from downtown. We have been to larger dunes, but these were quite fun and challenging to climb and slide down. There is plenty of parking with easy access to the lake and the dunes. We didn't stay in the water too long as we... More

the dunes are always great even though the hill seems diminished from what I recall as a child. Not very accessible for seniors and huge parking lots diminish otherwise beautiful beach environment. But its an evil necessity in this car-dependent region. Great place to spend a day or a few hours. I haven't camped there for years -used to be... More

How do you accurately rate a state park? The fun is up to you. Warren Dunes is pretty awesome. Lots of shoreline to take in, though the beach can get a bit rocky at points. It would be nice if there were a place to spray off the sand. Their website says the park features three miles of shoreline, six... More

On our cross country trip to Joliet Illinois, we stopped at Warren Dunes State Park to stretch our legs and get some "Sand Therapy". I thought the drive from the highway was very close and easy. When arriving into the park, I found the parking lots to be very spacious and well located. It wasn't very busy for a Friday... More

I love this Park for the beautiful tall dunes, stunning beach, and interesting trails. You can go through the small stream all up to the dunes which is wonderful experience. I read previous reviews about the seagulls, yes they are there but I didn't see anyone affected by their presence, it was quite serene. The safety is good, washrooms big... More

We were a bit concerned about the weather forecast but went anyway. A quick 2 hour drive from the Chicago suburbs, and up I-94 and you're there (round trip for us was 260 miles). It is situated about 1/2 way between Sawyer and Bridgman so you can exit in Sawyer and take Red Arrow Highway north to the park. We... More

For an hour, all day, or several nights of camping, this gem has something of interest for anyone with any level of interest in nature or the beach. In fact, it might get some people who are not so interested to open their eyes. From the beautiful beach for sunning or swimming to the tall dune for climbing and the... More

Eaten alive by black flies had to get off the beach before I lost all my flesh. If you want to climb a dune it's ok, but if your there to enjoy the beach you will have to fight the seagulls for a place without bird poop and keep moving as to not be the main course for the flies.... More
