Pros: Very helpful attendant when I had trouble with the confusing locker system Lifeguards everywhere & seemed very vigilant Kids had a blast, the rides were fun Cons: Prices - $39 per person was pretty outrageous. Half day was from 4-10 pm and since we arrived at 12:30 that wasn't really an option. A first half of the day option... more

Took our grandaughters ages 13 and 10. We all had a great time. The park has something for all ages, even adults. There is a kiddie area, two intermediate level tubes, and two larger tube slides. The girls were continiously on all four tube slides. Also the mat race slide has two different angles of slide. The water surfing area... more

I had a 3 year old and an 11 year old with us in June 2008 and they both had a great time. Not much difference between AB and Zehnder's in Frankenmuth except that AB has the wave machine that the older kids can surf/boogie board on which my 11 y.o. loved. Everyone enjoyed themselves but the food was expensive... more

My family and I have visited AB twice. Once in June 2008, when there were lots of people visiting and the other time in late April 2009 and hardly anyone there. I definitely enjoyed the April visit more as I didn't have to search for a table or chairs to sit at and didn't have to worry about school-aged children... more

I would not recommend this place to anyone. We booked a night there thinking that we would play in the waterpark until 6 pm-which is when check in is and then get dried off in our hotel room and go eat dinner. At 7:15 our hotel room was still not ready to check into. We were among many people-I would... more

I have been to many waterparks in my own state and at Cedar Point and i have never come across such a poorly managed waterpark. To begin, when my family and i were waiting in line at the check-in tower at the park, there was a larger older woman visiting with what appeared to be another manager. she didnt acknowledge... more

Took 3 and 8 year olds to Avalanche Bay and had a fantastic time! Both kids have a food allergy that makes dining out hard, so best choice was to book a Mountain Villa (for the kitchen) on the Spring Break package. Considering the water park passes are regularly $39 a day per person- the deal made it seem like... more

We stayed two weeks after Spring Break in 2007. If you can get away after Spring Break, make it happen. Great price and the place was ours. Hardly anybody there. We stayed at the Grand Mountain Resort and they upgraded our room. I'm guessing because the place was pretty empty. Very nice. One downside is that there isn't much else... more

Ok, let me first say that our room at Grand Mountain Lodge surpassed our expectactions. Very nicely appointed and spotless. Loved the full pot of coffee in the morning, the fireplace and the flat screen TV. As far as Avalanche Bay is concerned, where exactly are those 80,000 sq ft? This water park doesn't seem much larger than Great Wolf,... more

Tried to book a couple of nights on short notice at Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City for Spring Break and was quoted over $800 for the two nights. The Mountain Grand Lodge at Boyne and attached water park came in at slightly more than half that price. The rooms were less noisy than Great Wolf's, and there was an... more
