The recreation area is well maintained and clean. There is only one trail, which is slightly disappointing, but the trail itself is nice and clean. Very fun splash pad available in the rec area. Water of Lake Huron is Sandy, but not too deep. You can go pretty deep and have loads of Frisbee fun.

Very large campsites but be careful if there was heavy rain some could be flooded. The beach is not esasy to access but the water games for kids are appreciated. With an easy access to the biking trail going downtown and to the eastern portion of the park you can spend hours peddling. Lots of birds for birders.

Nice place to get to the beach. The park has a great playground for kids, as well as a small waterpark (splash park). Costs $9 to get in (get the $31 annual pass if you will be going back ot to other parks).

Too expensive for my wife and I to just walk along the shore. We were visiting from out of state. For the locals, the rates were better.

This is another of the top campgrounds we have ever stayed at. Michigan is awesome in maintaining it's Recreation and State Parks. We will be visiting again in the Future. This was the second Park we stayed at on our way back from Sturgis 2015. Extremely modern. Campsites more roomy than Van Riper.

Lake Huron has always been my favorite Great Lake! Visited while looking at houses in the area so I can move back to my home area after being away for 20 years. The park still has a swimming beach but you have to walk a trail out to it. I recommend taking the nature trail by the Nature Center to... More

We camped for 3 nights and the highlight of the trip was their amazing splash pad. If you are in the area with kids I would highly recommend it. You just need a State Park Recreation Pass and then it's free to visit. It was quite hot during our visit, so it was well used by campers and locals, but... More

Came to Bay City from Ohio expecting wonderful beaches. Could not believe there is hardly any beach area in site. At the state park we were told that it is considered a wetlands so unable to have a respectable beach. Very disappointed in the Bay City area. Won't be back unless I need some antiques

The area surrounding this park was kinda run down. We were in the area and knew we were near Lake Huron, yet had a hard time finding a nice place to see the lake. The park was nice enough, and we did get to see the lake, but the lake was kind of dirty....we had seen Ontario the day before... More

If Michigan has had it's monsoon season, plan on most the campsites being underwater!!! Beautiful campground!! Be sure to bring at least 50 feet of electrical cord for your camper as the way the electric is set up, you could be that far from an outlet!! Nice showers, the beach has a splash pad for kiddo's! Great place to watch... More
