Hot Chicken and Rice served on your lap to the tune of a Sailor Chantey. Froze my butt off on a late night sail out to the Bay in Choppy waters. Great Crew and Captain almost kept our minds off the sea spray soaked seats and the choppy water with the bow dipping and moving up and down. A real... More

With all of the choices for sunset sails in Key West you need to pick the one that fits you best. Luckily we chose the Appledore IV. It is one of the smaller vessels but for the price you get unlimited beer and wine, crudite, fruit & cheese and peel and eat shrimp. The crew works hard to make sure... More

Had a great time on the Fall Color cruise. Despite the cold, the crew made it fun and interesting. We enjoyed meeting the other guests....some retired navy vets and their wives really made it fun and memorable. The chili, cornbread and hot apple cider was a nice touch as we cruised along the river. We were grateful for the quilts... More

went on the fall color tour. it was a sail (sort-of) up the Saginaw river. they served chili cornbread and apple cider all of which was good. if you are a social butterfly this is the trip for you......lots of chatting among the guests so time didn't drag. the crew was friendly and talkative. as for the fall colors.....not much... We went on the dinner cruise and were pleasantly surprised. The dinner was terrible, but the voyage was outstanding and we had a Celtic band on the boat that made it a perfect night! One on our best times!

Despite the rain, we had an enjoyable time on the Appeldore (the family ecology sail) with our 11 year old son. The sail engages kids in learning about (and caring about) their environment all while experiencing raising sails and taking part in sailing. The ship is open for kids to explore, and climbing the ladder and checking out the bunks... More

My friend and I highly anticipated this sail for the 4th. The idea of attending a fireworks festival and sailing along the river sounded like a fantastic day for us. Unfortunately, it did not turn out to be all that I had hoped for. The sail seemed a bit crowded with limited room to move about, without bumping into other... More

My first ride on a large sailboat was a memorable one. With about 30 other passengers we cruised down the Saginaw river into the bay for a short sail - on the night of the big fireworks show in Bay City, MI. A dinner cruise with a surprisingly good dinner on paper plates. The sun was going down as we... More

Our group motored downstate to Bay City, MI enjoying the many colors of the trees along the way. Michigan has some great color tours... & the best are UP NORTH... 'cause we have more trees & less houses. Less jobs too. Sigh. ANYHOW we decided to take a trip & see how the other folks live. Bay City is a... More

My wife found this by accident but we both feel it needs to be reported for others to enjoy. The Appledore is a tall ship that goes out onto Lake Huron out of Bay City Mi. They do many outings from dinner cruises, star gazing trips, to what we enjoyed, a fall river trip up the Saginaw River. They offered... More
