We've been meaning to get to WAM for the past couple of years and finally made the trip on a recent visit to see our daughter who attends college in the city. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the museum and the variety and quality of the collection. We went on a Sunday and there weren't many people... More

I really liked the portraits and the docent who was in the room was so knowledgeable it was almost like having a private tour for that gallery.

A good friend mentioned she was in Worcester over the summer and stumbled across the museum. She mentioned being surprised by the collection and recommended we visit. We had the opportunity to visit with a group from Clark during family weekend. We went on a tour, led by one of the college deans. We had a great visit. The museum... More

If visiting Boston with transportation, it's well worth while to drive out to visit Worcester Art Museum, about 35 mins on Mass Turn pike. There are some very good restaurants close by and the cafe in the Museum is very good too. It's grander than one expects, well kept up, with a very good collection. Worcester was once a very... More

What an incredible Museum this is!! We had guests from out of town, and went to see the Knights! exhibit for the 4th time. Each time i go, i see something new and add an additional layer to my experience. I highly recommend this Museum, whether you are local or visiting from out of town. It so manageable in one... More

This museum is like a little Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Just without the stuffy atmosphere and expensive parking. The parking was free! We drove out from Boston to visit after seeing it on a local travel show. I was also excited to see them add the Higgins Armory Gallery. They have small collections from all periods of art. They... For the month of August 2014 the Worcester Art Museum is offering free admission for all. I hadn't been in a very long time and thought it would be a good time to see it again especially with the recent addition of the Higgin's Armory display. We were extremely happy with what we saw. How the W.A.M. brought the Higgin's... More

WAM people are doing an excellent job promoting interest in art, art history and culture in general. It's a relatively small museum, but it has everything - works of art from all historic periods and most places on earth. Still one day might not be enough to enjoy everything it has to offer, because there are special exhibitions and all... More

There are many things to touch BUT you aren't supposed to! Kids who understand are fine. Kids who don't understand are not fine. Month of August 2014 is FREE! There is a good knights' display with a little dress up/book area. You can put your hand into an actual gauntlet. There are quite a few works of art from very... More

We thouroughly enjoyed our visit to this museum. It is a GREAT overview of the world of art. We came to see the exhibit of knights, armor & weapons, and it was excellent! We were very impressed with the physical layout of the museum... upon entering, you are in a very large and beautiful Renaissance court. Turn a corner and... More
