Very nice, large, and comprehensive collection of art from an estimated 50 centuries. Loved the Knights and Samurai display combining modern with ancient art. For instance the Dark Knight's cape and cowl from the 1989 Batman film and the "Children of War" exhibit in the Knights section, and the modern art prints, graphic novel art, and sculpture in with the... Very very difficult to give this museum a good rating. It is essentially frozen in a period pre-dating 1930. It's the museum version of Frozen. If you like a thin collection of largely mediocre art, it's pleasant enough. But the WAM is utterly disconnected from local, contemporary art--has it even heard of contemporary art--and seems to operate on a minuscule... More

Lots of hands on activities for the kids. Overall just a great museum and the cafe is wonderful. Highly recommend the crab cakes.

One of the best museums I have had the opportunity to visit has to be the Worcester Art Museum. I have had many opportunities to visit museums and do so as often as possible. I was stunned at what I found in the Worcester Art Museum. From ancient Roman mosaics to Gilbert Stuart portraits there is something stunning around every... More

I honestly wasn't expecting much when I moved to Worcester and heard that there was an art museum. It is amazing! There is so much to take in!! I have enjoyed several of their temporary exhibits. My husband loves the Armour collection as well. This museum also doesn't take itself to seriously. It is kid friendly, and I love that.

If your family includes those interested in knights and their differing types of armour worldwide, the Worcester Art Museum has an amazing collection. Materials that were part of the Higgins Armory Museum have been incorporated into the WAM collection. In addition, a newly opened exhibition entitled "Samurai" incorporating contemporary interpretations as well as parts of the Higgins Collections. Samurai is... More

This is a remarkable museum and beautiful building, it rivals many metropolitan art museums, we are lucky to have such a wonderfully curated collection right here in Worcester. Worth a visit for out of town guests and locals alike, there is always something new!
