Recently made my second trip to this museum to see the new Knight exhibit. Brought my teenage son who had seen the armor collection when it was housed at the Higgins Armory. We were a bit disappointed in the small Knight exhibit, but we were told the museum was going to expand the viewing area to showcase more from the... More

I make a trip here every few years from Boston. The WAM is typical of museums in New England towns that were 19th century leaders in manufacturing, like Springfield, MA; Manchester, NH, Fitchberg, MA, etc. They have rich collections that reflect the personal tastes and interests of local industrialists of the times. The donor names read like a social history... More

I went to college years ago in Worcester, and the Worcester Art Museum was the first art museum I ever went to. It began a lifelong joy of art. Recently, we made the trip back to Worcester to visit the museum again, and were glad that we did. The museum has a very nice, but not particularly remarkable collection. After... More

This was my first visit to the Worcester Art Museum since it acquired the collection of the late, great Higgins Armory and a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

I hadn't been to WAM since elementary school so we decided to visit on a Saturday afternoon. We arrived at around 2:30 and spent 2.5 hours walking around. We rushed through the top floor because it was close to closing, so I think 3 hours or half a day would be a good to budget to see everything. Parking is... More

I live in Boston and came out for the Yoshitoshi Japanese woodblock show. Although I vaguely recalled the place, it was really more impressive than I remembered. This is a truly encyclopedic museum, second in size for New England only to the Museum of Fine Arts here in Boston. From the breathtaking Roman mosaic floor that greets you at the... More

Diverse art by famous artists in your downtown art museum. Wonderfully authentic little stone church in one room, and it is like traveling back in time. Modern exhibits and rotating collections always keep one interested for every visit. One of my favorite features are the great presentations they provide once a month in the evening, which include a private tour... More
