The front of the art museum is located on a one-way street, but the building occupies the space all the way through to the next street over. That street is both ways and there is street parking there - free. The museum has entrances on both streets. We went mainly to see the "Knights" exhibit which is a collection of... More

This museum had some amazing pieces! I was totally impressed by the collection and spent several hours taking it all in! Very glad I took the time to visit WAM!

I was able to attend a company function at WAM and there was a nice spot to have drinks and apps before heading out to the museum to wander and enjoy the great art selection.

If you are in central MA, you want to visit this museum. If you are traveling east or west on the MASS Turnpike, it's worth the detour. Will take about 15-20 minutes from the turnpike. You can park for free. Take a docent lead tour--the museum has fantastic docents. Spend a few hours. Have lunch at the museum. It's a... More

Fun time at the Worcester Art Museum's Star Wars Day!!! Lots of kids dressed as their favorite Star Wars characters!!!! The Knights and Samurai exhibits great way to see real life inspiration for Star Wars. The Acton School of Kendo did an amazing demonstration of swords and light sabers!!!!!

The Knights exhibit and the Roman mosaics were our highlights but there is something for everyone and we can't wait to visit again and check out the samurai exhibit.

"Art from 50 centuries," the sign says, and it's true--from the Maya civilization to Ancient Rome to Andy Warhol. Well displayed. The Roman mosaics from Syria were just great, an installation reminiscent of Villa Casale in Sicily! We enjoyed the whole museum, though we skipped the armor and Samurai exhibits (lack of interest). You should allow at least three hours... More

Recently made my second trip to this museum to see the new Knight exhibit. Brought my teenage son who had seen the armor collection when it was housed at the Higgins Armory. We were a bit disappointed in the small Knight exhibit, but we were told the museum was going to expand the viewing area to showcase more from the... More

I make a trip here every few years from Boston. The WAM is typical of museums in New England towns that were 19th century leaders in manufacturing, like Springfield, MA; Manchester, NH, Fitchberg, MA, etc. They have rich collections that reflect the personal tastes and interests of local industrialists of the times. The donor names read like a social history... More
