Close to town. The relatively flat trail around the meadow has wildflowers, butterflies, and nice views of mountains. Longer trails go off of that through the woods.

I live locally and have hiked this preserve in all seasons. I have done both long and short hikes. For a half-hour in-and-out hike, you can simply walk to the top of the hill to the big open vista and take in a sweeping view of Mount Greylock. Get there late in the day and you can watch the sun... We were nearby so we walked through the trail for a very short amount of time to this meadow; the view is amazing! You are looking at Vermont, N ew York, and Massachusetts breathtaking mountain views.

I wanted very much to take my friends there but time/weather didn't permit. However, I have been there before and want to encourage everyone to go and enjoy it. The Trustees of Reservations organization has done a wonderful job preserving this great property.
