I've only been to the Big E fairgrounds for horse shows, never for the Big E itself. Wonderful place for showing, the colleseum is great. Only bad side is there are a million staples sticking out of the stalls. (They hurt)

The Big E is the state fair and it's the busiest 3 weeks in West Springfield. All kinds of food vendors, tours of the different state buildings, vendors of all kinds. Rain or shine, cold or hot it's the fair. The hardest thing to do is find parking but you will find people who will let you park in their... More

There are minature state buildings of New England- fun to walk through. The different buildings serve different foods of that state. Vermont is known for it's great apple pie. You can get fresh apples at the Massachusetts building, Blueberry Pie at the New Hampshire Building, The most delicious coffees at all of the buildings & Vermont has brick oven pizza's.... More

still love going, even after all these years! Fun for everyone. Still the same, seldom changes. The best Maine potato (with everything on it) and icecream at the 'Purple Cow'. Everyone know exactly where to head when you get there and don't forget the cream puffs!!!!!!!!!!

Every year we go to get the same food at the same places. The crafters are the same that have been there for the last 25 years. Need some new blood, and new stuff!

For whatever the reason, for whatever the stage, interest, and all the going ons that are under the umbrella of the Big E. I thas always been a good place to go, Events, Fairs, Shows, Retirement parties, Weddings, Club gatherings. It's all been good. One little hiccup is that some of the vendors don't play nice. I'm sure not all... More

This is a state fair that happens once a year, and you don't want to miss it. It runs every day for about two and a half weeks. It does get packed with people, so driving there can find you in bumper to bumper traffic. Best time to go is Monday through Friday during the day time, if you can,... More

It's a perfect place to take your family or go with friends. Once inside, there is so much food and entertainment. There is ample parking in the area on side streets where homeowners make a little extra cash (as they should) for the traffic it brings to their area annually. The further down the streets you park, the cheaper they... More

The Big E event is fun to visit once in a while especially if you have visitors from abroad, but not something I would go to every year as it does not really change all that much year to year. The facility itself however is used year round for other events, some of while are well worth an annual visit.
