The paved bike path in Manuel F. Correluus State Forest is an 11 mile loop thru open fields, shrub oak, and pine forests. Pretty flat except a mile or so along the Edgartown West Tisbury Rd. Biked during the week and weekend and maybe saw a half dozen riders. Parking along Barnes Rd, Ed/WT Rd, and Old County Road.

The bike bath offers shade and also natural trails. Be sure to stop on the southwest side to observe the Heath Hen statue. There are also horseback riding trails as well. Many of the... More

I enjoy biking on the Vineyard, but I find the main roads intimidating due to the blind curves and lack of a shoulder. THe bike path through the state forest is well maintained and I can enjoy the ride and the forest environment without any anxiety about car traffic. The paths allow for routes that loop around in many combinations,... More
