What else is around????? It's a good local zoo

What can I say, it's Stoneham, MA. No big animals like elephants, etc and most of the animals are gone for the winter. My boys love going over the off season because it's dead... read more

I brought my daughter here for the first time. She had a blast she loved seeing all the lights. We couldn't see to many of the animals but we did see Flamingos and that made her day. Even though it was cold it was a fun time

Annual Zoo Lights at the Stone Zoo - good family fun. Visited with animals & employees who were knowledgeable about the animals. Holiday tradition worth the visit

Pretty, wholesome and fun. Cold weather animals were out and lit up so we could see them. Not evident where cocoa and cider were offered and signage was limited. Lots of rude tourists pushing past, stepping on others and children screaming, clearly not having fun.

If you go to this with the idea of supporting the zoo, you will be OK. If you think you are going to see something unique you will be disappointed. Great idea with lots of potential that falls far short of expectations. After experiencing crowds, old, tired displays, few animals, traffic, etc. you will be scratching your head wondering why... On paper this looks like a great idea; animals, lights, Xmas, Santa etc..... However, in reality it really does not work that great. You do not see the animals and the lights are starting to look a bit tired. However, will say that the entrance fee of $7 is priced correctly.

Fun with a group of young children. The zoo is a good size - not too big, not too small. The zoo seemed to be under construction when we visited, and some areas were clearly being improved, but even so it was a good place to spend two hours.

We visited with our daughter in July. The zoo is older, but has a decent collection of animals. We found the food to be low quality. The staff is very nice and everyone is always busy. It was a good visit, but we won't need to come back. Other options are around.

Took our twin toddlers here over the weekend. It's a small zoo, but that's almost a plus with the short-attention-span set. We were there for about 2 hours, which was perfect to see everything and perfect for their attention span. The variety of animals is less than a larger zoo (no elephants, giraffes, lions) but there are some fun exhibits... More
