Ok zoo, don't expect much

The Stone zoo is a small zoo, and as such, does not have a tremendous variety of animals. There are a couple of big cats, and some other interesting ones, but all in all, there's not a great variety of big animals. That being said, it is still a pleasant zoo, spaced out, with a good amount of shade. The... More

My husband and I visited on one of the hottest days of the year and we still had a great time. It is smaller in comparison to other zoos but they still have a nice variety of animals. The only animal we didn't get to see was the snow leopard (since it was so hot they kept him inside this... More

This was our son's favorite zoo at one time, and we were looking forward to visiting again after a 3 to 4 year absence. The prices have gone up ($18 for 13 and over without a discount for military family members) and the quality has gone down. Like other zoos in New Engalnd including Frankllin Park in Boston, Roger Williams... More

My friend happens to work at this zoo and was showing me around. I thought it was very clean, well laid out and the diversity of animals was great too. We saw the bear training (when it's hot out, they tend to be lazy FYI) and they did a great job of getting little kids involved with it. I'm a... More

This is a small zoo that is perfect for a shorter visit with smaller kids. It's very clean. Parking in the summer on a prime weekend day is a little tough, but get there early before the animals get hot and sleepy. Very convenient to I-93. If you plan on coming more than once or visiting the Franklin Park Zoo,... More

The Stone zoo may be on the smaller side but the have the largest variety of large cats that I have ever seen. Also they use clear glass for the enclosures so you can get really close to the animals, take some great pictures and see everything clearly.

We bring our twin grandchildren here all the time. It's a small zoo that is very easy to walk - which I find a plus. The two "brother bear" exhibit is great and we've watched these two bears grow up. The flamingo exhibit currently has some eggs waiting to hatch. The baby mountain goat is really fun to watch. The... More

If you visit this zoo don't miss the bird show called Masters of flight at the Amphitheater, this was my favorite part. The kids enjoyed the playground.

I went to the zoo as part of a preschool outing with a group of older 3- and 4-year- olds. They enjoyed it very much. They loved seeing the animals and also enjoyed the 15 minute bird show. The narrator/moderator, unfortunately, talked too fast and did not adjust her talk to the audience. I had trouble understand her (I am... More

I brought my sister and 2 1/2 year old nephew to the zoo and we had a great day. It is the right size for him to walk most of it, see the animals up close, and go back to revisit all of our favorites. He enjoyed the playground as well. We were impressed even though not everything was open... More
