When we first came to Cape Cod for a visit, we drove along highway 6. There was no scenery and nothing of interest to see. Subsequent trips have been made on route 6A, The charming architecture, blueberry fields, and marshes, make for a totally picturesque setting. The numerous shops and restaurants add to the charm and appeal. We frequently take... More

OK, you are trying to get over the Cape Cod Canal with thousands of other beach lovers. You're frustrated by the traffic and you just can't stand it any longer...enter Rt 6A! The tree lined road is sprinkled with many interesting stops - art galleries, antique and gift shops plus good food. Enjoy!! More

Driving through old, historic towns on Route 6A really gives you the flavor of the area. Even pre-season expect the pace to be leisurely. We probably averaged 30 mph but that gave us time to enjoy the views of the marshes. More

Old and worn. Many shops are dirty, empty, and in need of updating. No longer Antique Row. Just a slow drive, with lots of driveways and cut offs. More

We drive a lot (65,000 miles every year), mostly for fun all around New England. Route 6a on Cape Cod is in our top 5 New England drives any time of year. Avoid the t-short shops and water slides on Rte 28 and see the real Cape Cod on 6a. More

Up and down 6A there are so many crafts shops. Just be careful cause you can spend a lot. But, the quality of the products are great and you can see the work going into it. More
